Proof: Okay, before I give the full explanation, let me list the proof that I have seen. Goku and Bulma have known each other since the first episode of Dragon Ball. They are best friends to this day. However, there have been short times to when that line was crossed a tiny bit.

After the time skip and before the fight with Piccolo Jr., Goku appeared before Bulma for the first time in a while, all grown up. It should be noted that Bulma acts very flustered during this time, later on remarking that he got so handsome in the time he was gone. But then, of course, Chi Chi shows up, reminding Goku of his promise to marry her, and the rest is history.

And like that, the ship dies... somewhat. During the Frieza Saga during Dragon Ball Z, Bulma begins cloud watching while she was on her own. She sees a cloud resembling Goku's head and begins reminiscing on her adventures. She then thought of Goku and said this line:

"Huh... Maybe I blew it..."

Really gets the shipper mind reeling. But of course, they go back to Earth, Vegeta shows up again, knocks her up, and the rest is history.

...Okay, okay, I know Dragon Ball GT isn't technically canon, but there was this famous line from it:

Chi Chi: (to Bulma) Huh, you seem to care a lot about Goku... I know! Let's trade mates, Goku for Vegeta!

Of course, the whole line was a setup for a "dissing Yamcha" joke, but the line was still there.

What I think: Okay, now for the full explanation. I really only did the proof section to show that this ship at least had a bit of merit. So here's my situation. I don't ship this for the same reason I ship others on this list. I ship it for the "What If?" scenario.

I know that it's been asked before, but I've yet to hear a full on list of causes and effects for the scenario: What if Goku married Bulma instead of Chi Chi? I assume, while Gohan would be a bit weaker at first, he would get stronger than canon Gohan, simply because Bulma would actually let him train. But I digress. Maybe I'll make a list later on myself.
