Robin x Lucina (Robcina) [Fire Emblem]
Intro: Oh boy... Have I really started to dive into the Fire Emblem franchise for stuff? Why yes, yes I have. Because guess who just got Fire Emblem Awakening the other day and has been glued to it since then? This guy!
Proof: Here's where things get... complicated. When it comes to Fire Emblem, at least with Awakening, as far as I'm aware, you get to choose who ends up with who with the characters you are given. You make the proof, essentially. The only time you don't get the freedom to do so is when the story demands it. So who did I choose to hook up with my character? Well, I think that's pretty obvious considering the title of this chapter, but yeah, it was Lucina.
Robin is the somewhat amnesiac main tactician of the Ylissean army, as well as some other complicated stuff that I have yet to get to in the game. He's also the character you play as, so you get a real attachment to them. Lucina, on the other hand, is a whole 'nother can of worms. Basically, there's a character named Chrom, who's essentially Robin's best friend (or potential lover if you chose Robin to be a female), who leads the Ylissean army, right? Well... Lucina is his daughter from the future... yeah, things could get complicated in this relationship really quickly.
I can't really give solid evidence, as I've yet to completely finish the game, and you guys can just look at the video above to see the ascent of Robin and Lucina's relationship.
What I think: I think what really hooks me onto this ship is really, well, that complicated stuff I mentioned earlier. Do you understand the potential comedic moments between Chrom and Robin regarding this?! I crack myself up just thinking about the awkwardness that would occur! Robin and Lucina got into Smash Bros before Chrom for a reason. Other than that, it's just adorable.
The one problem I have with it, but don't think this isn't limited to just Robcina, EVERY SHIP you create in this game... gets married way too quickly. Here's the relationship progression for most of what I've seen in Awakening: somewhat annoyed with each other/showing respect for each other, then more of that, then more of that again with just a touch of romance in there, and then they get engaged. I'm not even joking.
