Intro: Wow, I'm really not making friends on this site, am I? Talk crap about Korrasami, dissed two canon Bleach ships in one go, and now shipping a Fairy Tail ship that involves a character who's in the Big 4. Well excuse me for having opinions.

Proof: Well, these two, along with Ultear, spent a good seven years traveling together as the guild Crime Sorciere, so that involved a lot of bonding that I'm sad we never saw. And after Ultear's sacrifice, the two spent a good time traveling alone and mourning their loss until they found the Oración Seis. Again, more bonding that I wish we saw more of.

And after recruiting the Seis, Jellal became temporarily blind, so Meredy helped him along, which included a lot of hand-holding, and the two even had a heart to heart moment alone. There might be more moments in the manga, but I just haven't seen any. I hope there is.

What I think: The thing that makes Jeredy seem so much better to me than Jerza is the fact that it doesn't seem like an out of left field choice. Yeah, Jerza got its moments, but a good portion of the bigger moments for them felt a bit... well, forced, including that almost-kiss.

For Jeredy, Jellal and Meredy actually share a lot more in common, and they have a much more believable chemistry to me. Yes, Erza and Jellal share origins with the Tower of Heaven, but Meredy also had a rough childhood, since her entire village was destroyed by Grimoire Heart, then being taken in by them and practically raised to be evil, then becoming a good person.

They may not share the same origin like Jerza does, but Meredy still has a similar enough origin where her and Jellal could at the very least have a "that's rough, buddy" moment. Then when Ultear died, they now share the same loss. They bond over that and grow a stronger relationship. It's a really great relationship when you think about it, even if you only BrOTP them.

To be honest, I'm a bit back and forth between Jeredy and Jeltear (Jellal x Ultear), but I mostly lean toward this one since, you know, Meredy's still alive. Yes, I know Jerza's practically confirmed canon, but that's not gonna stop me. I'm not mad about this not being canon, I'm just mad that we didn't get more with them. And that there's not more fanfiction and fan-art of them.
