Michonne walked into the coffee shop and spotted her friend at a booth near the back. She gave Maggie a quick hug and slid into the seat across from her.

"Thanks for coming," Maggie said.

She was visibly upset and anxious.

"It's no problem," Michonne assured her, "What's going on?"

Maggie took a deep breath and dove right in, "I think I'm late."

The younger woman looked like she was on the verge of tears so Michonne wanted to be careful with how she reacted.

"Have you-" she started but Maggie interrupted her.

"No, I haven't told Glenn yet. And I will. I just...I want to figure out how I feel about it before even having that conversation," Maggie explained tiredly.

Michonne reached across the table and squeezed Maggie's hands, "And you don't have to say anything until you know for sure, okay?"

Maggie nodded.

"Do you want to have a baby?" Michonne asked, figuring there was no sense in dancing around the issue.

"Glenn and I have talked about it before but never seriously. It's always been like, maybe someday, maybe the future us will have a family and a dog and a white picket fence kind of thing," Maggie said.

"Sometimes life has a way of speeding up your plans," Michonne offered with a smile, but Maggie wasn't really in the mood to be cheered up.

"I just don't know if I'm ready," Maggie said quietly, "after everything that's happened..."

Maggie and Glenn have been married for barely a year and what should have been a joyful time turned tragic with the sudden passing of Maggie's father from a heart attack and the loss of her younger sister to a drunk driver not six months later. Outwardly, Maggie appeared resilient and determined, successfully managing her father's farm, but Michonne worried about her all the same.

"Whatever happens, you know I'm here for you, right?" Michonne said sincerely, "You have Glenn and you have your friends; me, Sasha, Carol, even Rick and Daryl too. You have a lot of people who care about you."

Maggie wiped her face and finally cracked a smile.

"Thanks, Meesh. I really needed that," she said, finally starting to feel calmer about the whole thing.

Michonne smiled and decided to go order them some coffee and scones.
