Reader's POV

"Sir?"
Slowly opening your eyes, you realise someone is knocking on the door. Next, you gently move Lillie's arm away and get up, realising you were still in your Rocket suit.
At least the person at the door won't see my pyjamas.
Opening the door, you see a grunt:
"Sir, you have been summoned to the courtyard. The boss wants you to meet the guests."
Bibatina, I forgot about them!
"Of course. Let me dress up first."
The grunt hides a shy smile:
"... I think you're already dressed up well, sir."
You smirk:
"Maybe. But I'll have a look at which outfits I still have. Or are you going to help me with dressing up?" You ask jokingly.
"I'll do what you demand." The grunt says very seriously. You realise he isn't kidding and scare up:
"Oh gosh, did Giovanni give me a servant?"
"Sure he did, I'm Iwan." He says, shaking your hand. You sigh and smile:
"Welp, I guess this is my best suit, I'll just get going."
You close the door behind you to let Lillie sleep, and head to the courtyard.

Giovanni was talking to three strange looking persons when you arrived. One of them, a guy who looked like a priest with long, gray-green hair, pointed at you, and that made Giovanni turn around, hereby noticing you:
"Ah, my dear Y/n! Welcome! My beloved guests, this is my partner, Y/n! He's the champion of this region, and one of the strongest persons I've ever met! With a bit of guiding, he will use his potential to the maximum." Giovanni proclaims, introducing you to the three strange looking men. You step forwards and shake hands with them, while Giovanni introduces you to them. The first one was a confident looking man, with wild, red hair and a similar black and red suit:
"This is L-"
"My name is Lysandre, I'm the leader of the glorious Team Flare. I've heard many stories about you, Y/n. I'm glad to meet you." He says, giving you a firm handshake and a wink to Giovanni.
The second one was a shady person, silent, with icy eyes and light blue hair. He looked very serious.
"This is Cyrus. He is the leader of the notorious Team Galactic. He is a strong leader, and they say he has been to the Distortion World to capture Giratina, the Legendary Pokémon."
You shake hands, but Cyrus didn't say anything, he just nodded. You smile:
"You'll need to tell me about that later, I'm sure it must be a great story."
Cyrus mouth smiles a little, but his eyes don't:
"I failed in the end, but I've learned a lot."
The last of the three was the man who reminded you of a priest.
Giovanni starts again:
"And this is Ghet-"
"He can introduce himself, thank you very much! Í am the great Ghetsis Harmonia Gropius, leader of Team Plasma, the greatest, and one of the Seven Sages. Tell me, Y/n, where do you come from?"
This guy is overconfident, which is his weak point.
"I was born in Kanto, but mum and I moved to Alola."
"Oooh, with mummy! How cute. Clearly, you were born as a peasant."
"I'm fine with not having a nobility status, my lord. Some say having royal blood makes you cocky."
Giovanni puts a hand on your shoulder:
"That's enough, Y/n."
Ghetsis knocks his iron staff on the ground:
"This impudent boy just insulted me! I will not let this pass unnoticed! Battle me, boy, right here, right now."
You smile and shrug:
"Sure thing, I've been waiting for that!"
Cyrus laughs:
"This could be interesting."

You get ready for the battle, picking your Alolan team. Giovanni approaches you:
"One more thing, Y/n. No Legendaries are allowed."
That surprises you, you wanted to use Solgaleo to demolish him:
"Why not?"
"Apart from me, no leader has caught a Legendary Pokémon. It wouldn't be fair if you'd use one now."
You nod:
"Noted."
"Good."

Giovanni gets ready at the side of the battlefield:
"I will be the referee. No Legendary Pokémon are allowed. Let the battle... commence!"
Ghetsis smiles:
"Go, Seismitoad!"
You send out Silvally with a Grass Memory. The battle started.
"Silvally, dodge Muddy Water and use Multi-Attack!"
The attack made it faint instantly.
Next, Ghetsis sent out a Bouffalant.

Bouffalant did a lot of damage to your team, and the battle went on and on, until you both had one Pokémon left. You were breathing heavily, exhausted by the battle:
"This battle is all yours, Midos!"
You sent out Lucario, and Ghetsis laughs:
"Strong? Did they say you're strong?! You're despicable, Y/n. Go, Hydreigon!"
You sigh.
I don't want to lose to this douche.
All of a sudden, you see Lillie, standing on your balcony, pointing at her pocket, and blowing you a kiss.
You feel in your pocket and find the necklace Lillie gave you before she left to Alola. You touch it, and Lucario suddenly starts shining.

In a few seconds, Mega Lucario stood before you. You smile and give Lillie a wink back:
"Go, Lucario, give it everything you've got! Aura Sphere!"
Ghetsis snaps his fingers, and Hydreigon fires a Fire Blast, not to block the other attack, but to hit you. Using your Aura Powers, you dodged the ball and look at Ghetsis, shaking your head:
"Coward."
Luckily, Lucario's attack hit its target, and the Hydreigon fainted. You won the battle. You keep calm and give Ghetsis a hand:
"Well fought, great battle. You're really strong."
Ghetsis sighs and smiles:
"It seems I underestimated you, Champion. Thank you for this battle, you've proven your worth."
As you see the others just standing around you, doing nothing, you laugh and turn around:
"Are you all just staying here?"
Lysandre nods:
"Normally, yes. We need to make plans. Shall we get to it now? I'm tired of waiting."
The leaders nod, and you follow them to Giovanni's room.

While entering Giovanni's room, you feel a disturbing atmosphere, as if there a cold breath was hanging around you.

Giovanni turns around, spreads his arms, and looks at the four of you:
"My dear friends. Today, we will write history. With this plan, we sha-"
"Shall we just get to the point, Giovanni?" Cyrus interrupts Team Rocket's leader.
Giovanni nods, smiling:
"Fair, fair. My plan is to invade Alola. With your help, that is. With the Alolan Champion in our ranks, its inhabitants should resign pretty fast. Of course, your legions,combined with mine, will be more than enough to conquer Alola in a few days, maybe less. As for rewards, of course you'll each get a fair share of the treasure we get, and I was thinking of Y/n as a regent of the islands. He knows the area and the inhabitants better than anyone. After that, we're going to gather here again, and see about which region we'll conquer next. The battling will start tomorrow, at 4 AM."

Cyrus, Ghetsis and Lysandre agreed to the plan, and the rest of the day went by fairly fast. You just kept nodding and smiling, but in your head, you knew this plan was never going to work. The plan was like a wheel, well-built, and ready to roll. You weren't going to stop the wheel. You were going to break it.

Back in Lillie's room, you fall into your love's arms, and tell her about what has been told earlier that day. You let out a big sigh, and cuddle with her, head to head.
"Y/n?"
"Yes, sweetheart?"
"Do you think Alola would survive an attack this heavy?"
You shake your head:
"No... definitely not. Alola is one of the weakest territories in the world. Not only hasn't it got a lot of strong trainers, it's also divided in four separate islands. That makes it really difficult to defend."

Lillie starts sobbing slowly, and you put her head to your chest soflty, stroking her silver hair. Suddenly, the door opens, and a grunt comes in. You shout at him:
"SHOULDN'T YOU KNOCK FIRST?!"
The grunt bows and apologises:
"I'm very sorry, lord, I didn't know you'd be here..."
"If I wouldn't be here, you should still knock."
"... Either way, my lord, my lady, you are kindly requested to attend the feast. The Leaders will be gathered, and lady Lillie is expected to be there as well. Thank you." he says, leaving the room again.

Lillie looks up, and stops sobbing:
"I guess I should put on a nice gown then!"
You smile:
"You don't have to, you always look great in anything you wear, darling."
She chuckles:
"Oh you! Maybe you think so, but will the other oh so important great leaders think so too?"
"I'm sure the-"
Lillie interrupts you:
"Besides, wearing pretty dresses makes me feel beautiful."
You laugh:
"Fine, fine, you win, I lose..."
Lillie sticks out her tongue teasingly:
"Ooooooooooo!"
When Lillie turns around to search for a dress, you sneak up behind her back and give her a quick kiss on her neck while hugging her out of nowhere, which made her scare up, and you laughed and cuddled for another minute, before heading to the feast.

Giovanni stood up:
"Dear guests!!! It is my honour to have so many phenomenal people sitting and eating at my own table! Please, eat, drink, party all you want, because tomorrow, the big work starts. But we're not kids anymore. We're not sweet summer childs, who know nothing about battling. We are fighters, and we will fight to the end, whatever it takes. Together, we can conquer the world.
When you pick up one branch, it's easy to break, how strong it might be. But try to bundle a few of the branches together, and you'll see that they won't break as easily, or not at all. Now, enjoy."

You all clapped, and you smiled, but your eyes didn't. Giovanni was sitting right in front of you, Lillie sat to the right of you, and Silver to the left. The other bosses were gathered at another table, and all the grunts were sitting at a gigantic one.

Giovanni smiles and sits down again:
"So, Y/n, what will you do to prepare for tomorrow?"
You nod:
"A good rest would do wonders, I'm sure."
Silver reaches out a bottle of wine:
"Won't you drink with me, sir?"
You shake your head:
"I don't drink, and if I did, I still wouldn't. I need to stay sober for tomorrow."
Giovanni laughs:
"A wise decision! Silver, you could learn a lot from this man," he said, turning around, beckoning the servant.
The servant brought roasted chicken, rice, and a delicious sauce you couldn't describe. When the servant put down a knife to your right, you see Giovanni staring at every movement you make.
It's a test.
You carefully pick up the knife, and cut a piece of chicken, without looking back at Giovanni.
It's too early to do something dangerous.

Instead, Lillie drank a lot of wine with Silver, which did make you more jealous than you wanted it to.

At 11 PM, you decided it was time to go to bed. You ask Lillie, but she immediately declined:
"Love, it's way too early, we're having so much fun!"
You nod:
"We are, but we need to be awake early tomorrow. Won't you come with me?"
"No."
"Please?"
"Y/n!!! I said no!"
That surprised you:
"Fine, fine, sorry, it'd just be easier..."
But Lillie wasn't done yet:
"No, not fine!!! You know what?! I'll go to my room, as you want! I won't have ANY fun, thanks to you! Thanks for thinking about your girlfriend, Y/n, Arceus!" she shouts, and stands up. While standing up, she puts a small paper in your hand under the table, invisible for others, and runs away to her room.
You kindly apologise to the others, and head to Lillie's room. You knock on the door:
"Honey? Please let me in..."
When you didn't get an answer, you read the paper:
"My dear,
I'm sorry for raging against you. I planned this a while ago. I want Giovanni to see me as a possible ally too, for if you'd betray him. We both know he suspects you will, at one point. He could 'use' me against you, and that will be beneficial for the both of us. I hope you can forgive me, Y/n, you know I'd never hurt you.
I love you,
Lillie"

You smile and nod. It was a good plan.
You headed to your room, and to the sound of Trumbeaks flying around, you fell asleep quickly. Tomorrow would be hell...

How are y'all doing?
Look, I'm sorry for not updating for... 5 months? I just often didn't feel like writing, I still don't really, but I just felt like I needed to update.

I'm really sorry, but I won't write a lot soon either.
I should be leaving to Brazil in a few days. If I don't, then don't expect any further updates. I'll let you know. If I don't go to Brazil, then I'll... let's say I'll ask someone else to end this story for me.

The main reason why I didn't write as much is 1) school, but also because 2) my relationship has been going quite badly since February. It's had it's ups and downs, but it stresses me out sometimes, and I don't have a lot of time for anything else except for school, friends and my girlfriend. I hope you understand.
I've graduated now, so I won't have school for a while. I guess that's good, at least.

Oh yeah, I remember I used to do a question of the chapter xD

This one's easy:
"What do you think of Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee?"

I was surprised when it got revealed first. Jesus, I thought it looked like a Facebook game, I still do. I think the concept is pretty boring, but of course, we don't know a lot about the games yet, so we'll see. I told my girlfriend we should play it together, but she says that if I dare to buy it, she'll cut off my... nevermind xD

I guess we're on the same page for this, but I've heard other people say they're really excited for the games!
