Chapter 22: The Breaking of the Fellowship
Lillie's POV
"Hmmm... goodmorning, Y/n... Y/n?" I say moaning. I try to find someone next to me, but there is no one else in the bed.
Y/n is probably already downstairs...
I get up slowly, put my clothes on and go downstairs. Walking to the staircase, the sound of a heated discussion brings me to a halt. I follow the discussion closely:
"Dawn, I said I'm sorry, okay?!"
I suppose Dawn is shaking her head right now...
"No, Ash, not OK! You don't mean a word of what you say! You're just a hypocrite, that's what you are!"
"DAWN! Listen to me for once, please. I love you, but as a friend. I made a big mistake, but that doesn't mean I don't like you! Don't you understand? I want to be just fríénds. Or I at least want to part as friends."
"Ash, I... I can't." Dawn says silently, her voice breaking.
"But-"
"Get out."
"Dawn..."
I can better get going!
"I said: Get. Out."
I am already walking down the stairs, pretending I heard nothing, when Ash comes out of Dawn's room. He is looking very sad, but that is to be expected.
Arriving downstairs, Y/n sees me immediately and runs towards me:
"Lillie! Good morning!" He exclaims, picking me up and holding me in the air.
"Good morning, Y/n. I missed you when I woke up!" I answer him, giving him a long kiss next. His lips were soft, and I tasted a bit of mint.
"Sorry for that, I was preparing breakfast for the one I love!" He says, showing me the breakfast: toast with freshly prepared bacon, eggs, jam and coffee. I give him another kiss:
"That's so sweet! Thank you, you're the best!"
He blushes, grabs me a seat and makes some coffee for himself as well. Next, he takes a seat and looks with his y/c eyes in mine:
"How are you feeling?"
I smile:
"Much better than yesterday, thank you. I think that if I rest today, then I'll be fully recovered tomorrow."
His warm hand touches mine:
"That's good to hear. We've not got anything planned for today, so you will be able to rest!"
An unknown voice makes me jump up:
"Good morning, sir, m'lady."
I turn around: a strange man is standing behind me in a skull tank top! Y/n laughs:
"At least you say 'sir' instead of 'sur' now. I suppose that is an improvement."
While looking at the man, I ask Y/n:
"It seems like you've got some introducing to do, Y/n!"
Y/n opens his mouth, but the man interrupts him immediately:
"I can speak for myself, m'lady. I have the honour to be Alf, a Team Rocket grunt, -"
This time, Y/n interrupts hím:
"Fórmer Team Rocket grunt, please. Go on."
He smiles at me with white teeth and nods:
"Former grunt, yes. Mr. Y/n was so kind to lend me his Team Skull tank top, that's why I'm not wearing my Rocket outfit. I don't have any other clothing, you know."
That surprised me:
"You only wear one Rocket outfit? For your whole life?"
He shakes his head:
"Of course not, m'lady! We have two similar outfits! I wear one, I wash the other!"
I smile at him:
"There's no need to call me 'my lady', it's just Lillie."
Y/n laughs again:
"I've been trying to teach him that for a while! At least he hasn't got a strong accent anymore."
Alf grabs a seat too and sits down next to me:
"I'm sorry, m'... Lillie, about what happened. It was an unhonourable act. Even Team Rocket shouldn't stab girls."
I am about to forgive him, since it isn't his fault, but Y/n is first:
"Yeah, stab me instead!"
That makes us laugh, and when we are done laughing, Ash comes down the stairs, depressed:
"G-good morning everyone."
I give him a quick hug:
Someone has to comfort him!
"Good morning! I assume you haven't met our new friend yet? Ash, this is Alf. Alf, Ash!"
Ash just nods and sits down. Y/n gives him a plate with his breakfast:
"Here you go, Ash. I made breakfast for you too."
He doesn't even nod this time:
"I'm not hungry." He says, stands up and goes back to his room.
Alf is surprised:
"Arceus, what has he got?"
Y/n takes a long sip of his coffee:
"Relationship problems. They broke up a week ago or so."
Alf nods, understanding.
I have finished my breakfast:
"Shall I go and console him?"
Y/n stands up:
"No, I'll do it, Lil."
I smile:
"Y/n, I know you can't stand Ash. You could console Dawn, she trusts you more than anyone."
Y/n nods and walks up the stairs to Dawn's room, while I go to Ash's.
Reader's POV
You open the door of Dawn's room:
"Dawn? Can I come in?"
Dawn wipes away a tear and looks at you:
"Y-yes, come in."
You sit down next to her on her bed:
"Is everything alright?"
She smiles weakly:
"What do you think?"
Of course everything is not alright, good question, man!
"Why? Why can't you forgive him?"
Straight to the point.
"Because... 'cause he is a jerk!"
"Why?"
She locks eyes:
"He loves another, Y/n!"
You nod:
"Yes, but sometimes, one can not command his feelings. You can't chóóse to love someone. As I told you before, it just... happens."
She just sighs, so you go on:
"You want to be loved, I know that. Everyone wants to be loved. You think nobody loves you, but that's not true: everyone here loves you, Dawn, even Ash! He's really affected by what's happened. You should forgive him."
She looks really sad:
"Y/n, I... really can't. I don't even care about him anymore."
You shake your head:
"That's a lie. I'm not saying you have to love him. I'm just saying it would be nice if you would part as friends."
She shrugs:
"I'll-"
A knock on the door interrupted your monologue.
Arceus, I hate interrupted monologues!
Gladion's head appeared at the door:
"Dawn, could we have a moment? Alone, please."
You nod and go back downstairs, surprised that Gladion tries to solve the problem.
Lillie was already in the living room with Ash, who looked to be calmed down.
You ask her:
"And?"
Instead of Lillie, Ash answers, smiling:
"I'm over it, Y/n. Everything is fine."
Lillie looks at you:
"And Dawn?"
You sigh:
"Inconsolable. But Gladion is trying now."
She sighs:
"She's too stubborn."
Ash nods:
"She's always been. But like I said, I'm over it. Let her be."
You turn to Lillie:
"What have you done?! I mean, how did you do that? You consoled Ash in no time!"
She laughs and shrugs:
"Female monologues? Or puppy eyes, perhaps?"
You laugh:
"Both, most likely! Anyway, the problem seems to be solved, kind of. I'm going to train myself and my Pokémon for a bit. I'll be back before you realise I was away!"
Lillie stands up:
"Can I join you?"
You shake your head:
"The doctor said you need to rest. Recover one more day, and you can join me tomorrow, alright? Stay in bed, I'll visit you in a second."
She sighs and nods:
"Yes, you're probably right. Be back soon! Be safe!" She says, smiling cutely as always.
You leave the house and go to the training grounds.
First you did your exercises, and when you were finished with those, you sent out all your Pokémon:
"Good morning, guys! It's time for some training, isn't it?"
After thirty minutes of training, you suddenly feel two hands on your shoulders. You turn around to see Cynthia:
"Y/n! Good morning! What are you doing?"
You smile:
"Good morning, Cynthia! First, I did my exercises and now I am training."
"I can see you did the exercises well: you're fully covered in sweat!" She says laughing.
That makes you laugh too:
"Well yeah, I like to keep my body in shape! I need to be fit when it would be necessary. And so do my Pokémon!"
The Pokémon make happy sounds as you say that.
Cynthia nods:
Let's see if you're fit! Perhaps you would like to battle me? I haven't had a battle in a loooong time."
You nod:
"Yes, sure! I have always wanted to see your strength! Garchomp!"
You choose Garchomp as your first one. She laughs and sends out her Garchomp as well:
"Good luck!"
"Garchomp, use-"
A megaphone with Blue's voice shouts at you:
"Y/n, Cynthia, not now! Come inside!"
You shrug at Cynthia and head back.
When you and Cynthia come inside, everyone is sitting around the big table. Blue beckons you:
"Welcome, friends, welcome! Come in, take a seat!"
Even Lillie sat at the table, which surprised you. You take a seat next to her:
"I thought you were going to sleep?" You say laughing. She giggles and answers:
"I was, but Blue said everyone had to gather at the table, so here we are!"
Wow, even Dawn is calmed down!
"Fair." You say, as you turn over to the others:
"Now, why are we gathering?"
Blue gives you a sign to keep quiet:
"Welcome, Fellowship of the Bling! I'm glad you all came here!"
"Did we have another choice?" You whisper in Lillie's ear. Apparently Blue heared it:
"SILENCE! Now, I gathered you all here because Y/n had an interesting proposal." He says, looking at you, waiting. You smile:
"Is that all? It was an idea, nothing more! ... alright then. Now that we have a house in Celadon, it seems like a good time for it.
You all know Team Rocket. You all know who they are, what kind of people they are. Do we want such people to rule over our world?"
A silent 'no' was present.
"If they want to succeed, they wíll need to either stop us or work together with us."
Gladion laughs:
"Option two is not an option."
You nod:
"There is no choice. They have already been hunting us down for some time. They are stíll looking for us in every town or village. It is time for us to begin a counter attack. It is time for the hunters to become to hunted. I want to find, not to be found."
Dawn sighs:
"And how exactly do you think we could do that?"
You nod:
"I intend to send a few of you to villages and towns, to ask the Gym Leaders for their assistance and alliance, and to drive Team Rocket out of these places with their assistance, or with help from others. I was thinking... Gladion to Celadon, where we are now. Gladion, you know Erika and you can be very convincing." You say, looking at Dawn.
"Ash, you go to Pallet Town and the surroundings. Blue, the League. You can call in the aid of the Elite Four. Red, to Saffron. It's one of Kanto's biggest cities, and everyone has heard tales about the legendary Red. Cynthia, you could technically stay here, but I need your help for convincing the other regions. As a Champion, you must know the other Champions and perhaps a few strong trainers as well."
They all nod, and you hesitate:
"Who have I not mentioned yet?"
Dawn and Daisy raise their hand. You smile:
"Sorry, my bad. Dawn, Lavender and surroundings. Daisy, I need you to search for information about Team Rocket. Wherever you want. Anything you find, report it to me. Is that understood?"
Everyone nods.
"Is everyone alright with my decisions?"
Dawn rises:
"You can't be serious! Lavénder Town?"
You nod:
"It's a pretty populated area."
She goes away from the table slowly:
"Why me?"
"I'm sure you're up to the task, Dawn. I didn't even think about it." You say with a shrug.
"Well maybe you should have!" She says furiously, and she runs up the stairs, in tears. You sigh and turn around:
"Anyone else?"
Blue stays calm:
"Well, folks, this looks like this is the breaking of the Fellowship."
Lillie stands up and gives you a long hug, whispering:
"It's not your fault, Y/n. There will always be someone who isn't fine with your decisions."
You shiver:
"How can I satisfy most?"
She smiles:
"Make the right decisions!" She says joking.
You laugh and turn around:
"Well, Blue, you're the founder of the 'Fellowship', as you like to call it. What do we do?"
Blue stands up:
"I'll comfort her and bring her back to reality." He says, running up the stairs.
A few minutes, he came back with a red cheek, where Dawn probably slapped him. He sighs:
"Perhaps we should leave her alone for a second. I'm sure she'll get over it."
You go to your room with Lillie and put her to bed:
"You should really get some rest, Lil. I want you to be fit tomorrow."
She lays down and you pull the blanket over her:
"Sleep."
You are about to walk away, to check on Dawn, when Lillie grabs your hand:
"Don't leave me, Y/n. I can't fall asleep without you."
You laugh and lay down next to her. You give her a kiss:
"Sleep now, Lillie. I love you."
"I love you." She says, cuddling you.
You leave slowly when you hear Lillie's soft breathing. As you arrive downstairs, you see Ash sitting in a corner of the living room, sobbing. You walk towards him:
"Ash, what's the matter?"
He sighs:
"It's Dawn... she... she's gone!"
First of all, a big thanks to j.r.r. Tolkien for allowing me to use one of his chapter titles! *cough cough*
Just saying that I'm back on track, with some pretty... crispy ideas! I really can't wait for the next chapter, if you're into dark things, you will like it. If not, well... you'll probably like it anyways XD!
Oh yeah, what I was about to say was... I kinda discovered my strong points and my weak points now. I know that my language isn't the greatest (I'm not English, as I've said many times), that I probably make faults on the use of tenses, etc. But I think, I thínk that I'm good at developing an interesting story and that dialogues is one of my stronger aspects. Correct me if I'm wrong XD!
Anyway, enough about me, how was your day? Mine was great, during writing my middle finger began to shake for like 30 seconds! Probably because of Game of Thrones... shaking fingers... #RoadToAdolf! XD
Question of the week (I'm calling it 'of the week' now since it's a weekly upload, really XD):
"Who is your favourite trial Captain?" Mine is Mallow. I'd say Kiawe, but his trail was a bit... like a joke. Mallow's trial is way more difficult and for me the perfect example of what a trial is supposed to be!
(Arceus, I really talk too much... funny thing is, in real life, I'm not a talker! There I go again XD)
Have a great day, and see you in the next chapter! What will happen? You'll find out! Peace out.
