54. Messy haldi

Khushi Pov

"Arnav I think we should head back to Goa" I said with a thought.

"Why? I thought we're here for a week" He replied sipping his coffee.

"I've few works there"

He furrowed his brows "Which work?"

"I want to give closure to unfinished business" I replied fidgeting with my fingers which lay on his lap entwined with his.

He didn't convinced and raised the same "Tell me clearly Khushi"

I heaved a sigh lowering my eyes down "Still there is one thing which wasn't cleared in our life till now"

"Don't give riddles Khushi. I was so eager to complete this day and here you're extending it by your puzzled talks" His voice clearly indicated his irritation. I was aware of his desperateness to complete the next ritual haldi. But this has not to be left in middle when we're way to starting our new life without any past demons.

"Siddharth..." My voice come out as whisper. He looked distracted and sighed heavily.

"Is it necessary now?" Asked he.

"Yes. I do not want any hidden secrets between us. I bet without transparency we're not going to lead our marriage successfully" I shared the matter of fact.

He shook his head dramatically "Sometimes I wonder, are you the same khushi I married? The same khushi who proudly declared that she'll not give space to me in her heart. The khushi who dwelled on her love forgetting her life"

"Why?" I asked astounded. Why he feels so?

"Don't tell me you haven't realised what all goals are you setting for our successful marriage" He said making faces. I hit his shoulder playfully.

"What! You're talking like an expert. Where did this brain gone when you made me wait for saying simple yes and to accept my love?" He asked in clear annoyance.

I twisted my lips "Are you praising me or taunting me?"

"Second option without no doubt" He dare to say that openly infront of me. My annoyance transformed into anger and it kept increasing manifold seeing him sitting there coolly having no guilt of saying those words.

"Stop irritating me Arnav" I said aloud not able to see his nonchalant behaviour.

"Wahh.. Then What does madam doing now?" He bit out the words harshly.

"Are you mean it? Am I the one who's irritating you? Stop it Arnav, I am stating the facts. You're making mountain out of molehill" I throw my hands above in exasperation.

"Who's dragging the issue here, it's absolutely you? Don't start the blame game here" He said turning his face away from me.

I gritted my teeth in annoyance. What did I done that he's getting angry?

"I am asking you finally Arnav... Infact not asking I am ordering we're heading back" I declared sternly.

"In your dreams. I'll not head back nor will let you until we finish our unfinished rituals" Announcing this he got up from his place and sprinted inside before I could retort back.

Why is he overreacting now? I was going to follow him but stopped when my brain reasoned my actions.

You didn't do anything wrong. You just stated your opinions but he dragged it without no reason. When you're not in fault, there is no need for you to pacify him. Let him come on his own, he himself left without giving proper reasons.

I sat back on the chair, elbowing my chin. Glaring at the view, I waited for him to come and pacify me. Not a minute passed I peeped inside to see what he was doing. To my utter dismay, I couldn't see him.

Stop it Khushi. He's at fault! He'll come to you once he realise his mistake. Until then keep your patience.

I mentally chanted myself. Biting my nails I looked at my watch. Only five minutes passed, sighing I roamed my eyes inside the room. Disappointed, I set my eyes back in the view infront of me with determination. I'll not talk to him until he start a conversation.

Not knowing what to do, I started to observe my breathing. It was beating frantically. Gulping I peered inside again breaking my resolution. Still there's no trace of him.

Exhaling, I kept my eyes fixated on my lap where my fingers lay entwined.

When will he come? Where is he? I pissed off him. Shit!

I jerked up hearing foot sound. With narrowed eyes, I perked up my eyes hearing foot steps. When my narrowed eyes caught a shadow near the balcony door, I glanced back frantically. Stood up in haste, I ran inside knowing it's him. The earlier determination gone somewhere turning into ashes. Nothing matters than him.

There he is coming towards me. Not wasting a minute I reached near him. I clutched his palms panting heavily  "I am sorry Arnav. I shouldn't overlook your wishes"

I looked at his eyes to see any traces of forgiving me but instead found a terrified expression on his face.

"Kh.. Khushi..." I narrowed my eyes seeing his stuttering form. Why is he behaving like this?

"Your head" He said pointing my head. Scrunching my brows I raised my palms and next moment I shrieked aloud opening my mouth and eyes wide.

"Shut up Khushi" His palm held mine lowering it while I zipped up my mouth scanning the surroundings.

In my enthusiasm I forget to sense my state. Playing slow replay of the scene on my brain I found out how the heck I pushed Arnav down and letting my body to crash against his and then how the bowl on the table which was at my right side fell right on my head. Arnav tried to balance himself by placing his hands on the table and failed miserably pushing the bowl containing haldi. I was snapped back by his laughter.

"You're... looking...like a... clo.."

Getting angrier by his teasing laughs, I rubbed my haldi coated hairs on his white coloured shirt which stopped him from laughing and teasing further.

"Now laugh... Why did you stop now?" I dared him giving a stare.

In a blink of an eye I was flipped under him. Before I could retort back he streched his palms behind my head. Frowning I gaped when he rubbed the haldi on my face.

"Finished celebrating hadi" He grinned gesturing our form.

I pouted and then smiled circling my arms under his shoulder.

"Who asked you to take his name?" He asked comfortably placing his head on the crook of my neck.

"I thought to clear the thorn in our life" I said reminiscing the moment when I mercilessly declared about Arnav being thorn in my life.

He heaved a sigh and revealed the hidden secret which shocked me to the core "He is Siddharth's twin"

"But.. how?" I blinked my eyes and scanned my brain for knowing Siddharth twin.

"Even Siddharth is not aware of this. Siddharth parents gave one of their twin to his aunt family. His aunt has no child of her own. So Siddharth family gave his twin Rohit for adoption. Not wanting to keep Rohit near Siddharth and his family his aunt flew to abroad cutting all her ties with Siddharth family. Even Siddharth family has no idea about Rohit being in Goa. Infact he fly down here in professional front. Before you ask let me tell you, he doesn't know you nor Siddharth. He knocked our door only to get interview from me"

"That nandhini.?" I raised the doubt digesting this new piece of information.

"She's harmless as Rohit. She want to befriend with you. Strange women, stalked you for building a friendship. She has no one here except her husband Rohit, so she wished to be with you"

"Oh..."

"That's it. For this mere reason you almost spoiled my mood" He groaned as I get back to the present.

"If you had explained this way before, I would've never raised that wish in first place" I rebuked back.

"Just shut up khushi. You never knew how badly you hurt me with that wish. I wanted to forget our past, the past where I was afraid to confront the truth thinking you would be affected by Rohit presence assuming him as Siddharth. I didn't wished to broke our bubbling love. I..."

I palmed his mouth stopping him from hurting himself further "Like you always says, past is past. We cannot Undo it. Now the truth is infront of you. I will never ever going to leave you, you know that how much I am loving you"

The moment I confessed my love his lips closed mine sucking the breath out of my system.

"Do you want to go back now?" He asked after breaking our contact.

I shook my head in negative and then looped my arms around his neck lowering him down. He rolled us again transferring the haldi paste from my head to his cheeks. This time I tossed around sharing my haldi coated hands into his torso. And then it continued for two more times messing the room along with ourselves. Minutes later I broke into fits of laughter seeing the condition of us.

Like our bodies entangled, the haldi paste from my head splitted and scattered throughout our frame which almost looks like we were just had haldi bath.
