One.

There we were, finally landed at Glasgow International Airport. My dad seemed overly excited, well why wouldn't he be. He was finally moving in with his new wife, Joanne. I was not too thrilled with this whole moving thing. I had a great life back in LA. Great school, amazing friends, and not to mention the best boyfriend ever, Julian.
But unfortunately had to leave it all behind for my dad. My friends would say Scottish guys are hot and that i was very lucky. Little did they know, i didn't feel so lucky at all. I mean I even had to break things off with Julian because we had no clue if we would ever see each other again. So you tell me, how was I lucky exactly?

"She should have been here by now," Dad said as we walked out with our luggage.
I look a lot like my dad, with my black hair and black eyes with a round chubby face. I had that middle-eastern look which i got from my mum, because well she was from the middle east. She died when i was born, so Dad had spend 16 years being single and finally he found love again. A part of me was happy for him for trying to start a married life once more. I was just mad at him for making me move away from my flawless life. Back in LA, I was one of the most popular girls at school and now I had to start over here. The thought of strangers and unfamiliar faces in the hallway terrified me. It took me years to finally be at the top of the food chain, and now I had come tumbling back down. But ofcourse, I did not tell Dad that. I was not that selfish.

"The weather is so weird," i complained digging my hands into my jacket's pockets as the cool breeze whooshed across my head, making my hair fall over my face.

"Sweetheart," Dad pushed the trolley with our luggage to one side. "Please try to get along with Joanne." I could sense the worry on his face.

I groaned. "Do i have to?"

"She's going to be your mother, atleast try to get to know her. And also Cinder and Macy."

Cinder and Macy. Sounded like princess names, after all the UK was a royal country wasn't it? Scotland sounded like royalty itself. Before I could even answer, Dad's eyes gleamed and I knew why.

"Oh she's here, Selena," Dad exclaimed as a huge limo parked right in front of us and a tall woman wearing a black dress got out. Her perfect legs, and blonde hair didn't make it too hard to figure it out who she was.

"Daaaarling," she exclaimed in her Scottish accent and kissed my Dad. Joanne owned a famous boutique, Femme Fatale, in all of Scotland. It was french for desperate woman, i think. She was in LA last year for a survey as to what kind of clothes do Americans wear to launch her new range or something. That's when my Dad and her met, and well eventually fell in love and got married.
Let's just say, she was freaking rich.

"Hello Darling," Joanne pecked my cheek and i returned a smile. The driver got out and helped put our luggage into the limo. I couldn't help but notice how petite she was. She was making me feel insecure about my sturdy body.

"I hope your journey was enjoyable," she smiled so wide that i thought her mouth would break. She poured a glass of vodka for Dad and herself as she literally sat on top of him in the limo. Yes, that's what i had to go through. I turned my head, trying to ignore them, looking out the tinted windows.

"It was great, thanks," my dad smiled at her lovingly. I eyed him secretly and I could tell he was love struck. Any man would be at her to-die-for body. She was incredibly sexy for a 35 year old. Joanne kissed him and I smiled to myself even though I was disgusted. Dad deserved to be happy, so I was going to support him through his new beginning. I owed him atleast that.
I grabbed my phone, shoved my earphones into my ears and played my favourite playlist. Luckily, there was enough battery on my iPod to help drown out their smooching sounds till the ride home.
It was going to be a long day. No wait, scratch that.

It was going to be a long life.
