The kiss stung.
Burned.
Like it was the start of a raging fire,
Left to burn.
Burning bright and scalding hot.
The love and affection once stored in one brush
Gone.
The tidal waves of pain and sadness crash on the banks of my decrepit mind,
Breaking the barrier of love.
Trust.

The kiss was meaningless.
Empty.
A barren wasteland flooded with broken bonds and loss
The happiness and hope once present in the land,
Broken.
The dust storm of swirling emotion colliding with the trapping walls of my heart,
Breaking through the silence.
Still.

Without warning, words flood from my mouth,
Filling the lake of the other's mind.
Incoherent, false words tumble from my lips as I try fruitlessly to close the floodgates.

Questions shower my sudden actions and I brush them off, still startled at my mind.

As that door closed, I bottled up my latest lie and hang it next to my heavy heart.
Lies don't fix, they break.
And I know my bottle will break soon...

Then, I'll just get a new one.
