Chapter Forty Four: Just Look At the Stars

Names were a problem we needed to figure out, and soon. Madam Pomfrey was on our backs about it because she needed names to fill out the proper forms for the Ministry. Madam Pomfrey had sent an owl to Ron right away, but we hadn't heard anything from him. The owl had returned, however, without the letter so we were to assume it had been delivered to the correct recipient.

"Are names actually important to you Draco? I'm just wondering," I asked.

"Are names important to me?" He shrieks. "Have you met me Hermione?" Every time he said my name a shiver ran down my spine. "Everyone in my family has a stellar name, and that cannot change now."

"So what are we going to do?" I ask for what feels like the hundredth time, "look at maps of stars until we find two names that seem to fit? That seems boring."

"I guess we'll have to." Draco replies. So I walk over to my bag and dig through until I find my astronomy map. I pull it out and sit on the bed next to Draco. Ginny is babysitting the — not exactly twins in the Gryffindor common room which was probably a bad idea but at least we have some peace and quiet.

"Lets go tell Madam Pomfrey we have the names decided on," Draco says. He grabs my hand and we race out of the Room of Requirement and across the school.

"Hey don't pull me so hard," I don't mean for it to come out as a whine, but it does.

"Oh. Sorry Hermione." He stopped to let me catch my breath then continued down the hall, but with a slower pace this time.

"Thanks Draco." We finally make it to Madam Pomfrey's. When we walk into the hospital wing everyone looks up at us.

"Were we that loud?" Draco asks. Honestly, I don't understand his question. He sees Madam Pomfrey walk past a nearby bed into her office. "Madam Pomfrey," he shouts. She looks up at us and glares. "I — I mean we," he says looking at me, "have decided on names for the — errrr twins not twins." Her facial expression changes to a small smile that grows bigger slowly.

"But that's wonderful!" And she claps with excitement. "Give me one second please," she races into her office and comes back a few minutes later holding some papers. "I've filled out most of it already. You can just write their names on the line right here." She hands each of us a paper. I write Estella-Rose Granger-Malfoy on mine. I look over to check that Malfoy has done it correctly. He is writing Saros Granger-Malfoy on his.

"No middle names?" Madam Pomfrey asks.

"No coming up with first names was hard enough," I laugh.

"We can always come up with those later, right?" Draco asks.

"Well technically yes," Madam Pomfrey starts, "but you have to follow a legal process to do so, same as the muggles do." She glances in my direction and nods. "And may I ask when the wedding might be?" Draco and I look at eachother.

"Wedding?" He asks. I shake my head and say,

"We haven't decided yet Madam Pomfrey but I was thinking it might be some point over the summer." I reply helpfully and give Draco a kind of glare. He glares right back.

"Well we best be going—" Draco starts.

"—and collect the twins from Ginny," I finish helpfully. I turn to leave dragging Draco behind me before he can say anything he or I might later regret.

"Oh one last thing," we stop and turn to face her one last time. "Would you mind asking Miss Weasley to come down here for a moment for her erm — checkup?"

"I'd be delighted," I reply. I start talking to Draco. "You go on ahead to our Room of Requirement. I'll go see Ginny and collect the children."

"Ok," is all he says before he races up the stairs. Stairs have become a lot easier for me now that I'm not carrying two children in my stomach anymore I think to myself as I climb the stairs to Gryffindor common room.

When I enter the common room I realize it's been a while since I've last been here. There are a lot more people sitting in chairs and is that a Hufflepuff sitting with a Ravenclaw? In Gryffindor common room? A lot has changed since the war.

"Does anyone know where Ginny is?" I ask the room in general.

"That ginger haired girl?" A boy who I don't recognize asks. I nod. "Last I saw her she was heading up the stairs to the girls dormitories with two small children. Are they yours?"

"Thanks," I reply and race up the stairs to our dormitory. The second I open the door Ginny looks up. She looks really tired for some reason.

"Hello," she says. "I just got him to sleep." She gestures to my little son. "This is a feisty little girl," she says with a laugh pointing at my daughter. She's clutching onto Ginny's pinky finger as though her life is dependent on it.

"Thanks so much Gin," I say. I lift up my son when Ginny stops me.

"Sit down a moment. There's something we need to discuss." I sit down on her bed and meet her gaze expectantly.

"Oh before I forget Madam Pomfrey needs you in the hospital wing. Ginny is there something you aren't telling me?" The note of concern in my voice causes her to look down.

"Hermione," she says slowly, "it's all going to be ok." Of course that makes me more worried than ever but I let it be because I can tell she has something more pressing to tell me.

"It's about the upcoming Quidditch match against Slytherin. My team is so unreliable lately I was wondering if you could play Chaser?"

"Uhhh Ginny have you seen me on a broom? I can barely fly," I say with a laugh.

"Get Draco to teach you." She replies with a shrug.

"Do what?" I ask in shock. "Gin he's on the opposing team."

"And your his wife. Don't worry you'll figure it out somehow. Love you." She kisses me on the cheek and leaves me standing there in shock. What am I to do?
