Chapter Forty Five: Hermione or...
I walk back to the Room of Requirements feeling quite worried. One reason is because I'm carrying two babies in my arms. The other, how am I going to ask Draco Malfoy to teach me to fly? Once I get to the Room of Requirements I realize I can't open the door. Both children had now fallen asleep in my arms and I didn't want to wake them. Just when I was running out of ideas of how I was going to get in the room, the door opened.
"How did you know to open the door?" I ask as Draco appears behind it.
"Oh I uh — just felt like I should open the door," Draco replies.
"Really?" I ask, a smile growing bright on my face. "You know what?" I laugh quitly. "Lets go in and sit down for a bit." He reaches out his arms so I place Saros in them.
"I wanted a hug Hermione," he whines.
"And I gave you your child," I laugh. He laughs with me and places Saros in the crib in the corner of the room. I follow and place Estella- Rose next to him. I feel Draco's arm slip around my waist as I'm wrapping them up in their blanket. Once they've been tucked in and kissed on the forehead, Malfoy lifts me up off my feet, carries me across the room, and places me on our bed.
"Can I have my hug now?" Draco asks me.
"Yes," I feel him wrap his arms around my waist as I wrap mine around his neck. I'm so tired and the hug feels so wonderful it isn't long before I'm fast asleep.

When I wake up I remember about Quidditch. How I'm going to have to learn, and play. I look over and see that Draco is still asleep next to me. The kids are still asleep as well.
"Hey," I whisper, "Hey Draco." I gently shake him awake. "Wake up."
"Hmwaddayouwanthermione?" He mumbles.
"We need to talk about something,"I start. Malfoy leaps up out of bed and looks at me in pure fright.
"What's wrong? Are you pregnant again or something?" He's running his hands through his hair. "No, wait, that couldn't be it. So what is —"
"Draco. Breathe. It's ok. It's nothing like that."
"Then what is it?" He looks almost annoyed.
'I need you to teach me quidditch. I'm playing chaser in the upcoming match!" I blurt out.
"You want me," Draco starts, cracking a smile, "to teach Hermione Granger quidditch?" I blushed and nodded my head. In response Draco started rolling around laughing on the floor.
"It's not that funny," I say.
"Yes — oh yes it is," Draco responds still laughing hysterically. Tears are now rolling down his cheeks.
"Doesn't matter how funny it is," I walk over to his pile of belongings and dig through until I find what I'm looking for. It's stuck. "You're going to teach me- " with one last heave the broom comes free "- to fly. Right now actually."
Malfoy stops laughing. He sits up, sighs and says "oh all right then, but who's going to watch Saros and Estella?"
"Estella- Rose," I correct him. Then, "Zakrey." The elf appatates into the room.
"What is it you need from Zakrey mistress?" The elf asks with a bow.
"Could you babysit for us?" I ask. I see Draco roll his eyes. He obviously does not want to be teaching me flying lessons today.
"Of course Zakrey can. Now you go out and have some fun master and mistress." Zakrey pushes us out the door and shuts it behind us with a smile.
"Why'd you have to call for the elf?" Draco whines.
"Would you rather I have called for Snobby?" I ask.
"Yes I would," Draco starts without thinking. Then he looks at me, realization striking. "Wait. Snobby?" He asks slowly "The Snobby? Like, my Snobby? Snobby 'The Great'?"
"What other Snobby do we know Draco?" I ask exasperatedly.
"I dunno I thought maybe you had a cousin named Snobby or something." He sees the look on my face. "I'm sorry ok. You muggles have weird names," he practically shrieks.
"I'm not even going to—" I stop mid sentence because by now we've made it to the quidditch grounds. The sun is shining bright on the field and the goal posts look almost inviting. I drop the broom to the ground in shock. I kind of feel— excited.
"Accio broom," I hear Draco shout behind me. A broom comes flying out from behind the shed. I reach out to grab it. "What do you think you're doing?"
"Taking my broom?" I reply a little confused.
"Nah you fly on mine. I'll buy you a good one and fly on this school broom for now."
"Really?" I ask surprised.
"Only the best for my Hermione," he shouts and takes off into the air.
"Wait! Wait! How do you take off?"

After many long hours I finally have the hang of flying. It's not as hard as I thought it would be when Draco is teaching me. My broom finally comes by owl one day before the match.
"Oh my it is a beautiful broom," I exclaim as I rip the paper off of it. "Thanks Draco!" I run to him with broom in hand and fling my arms around him in a hug that knocks him to the floor.
"Alright lets go out," Draco responds immediately. Not even a 'you're welcome.' He and I race down the hall and out into the sunny quidditch pitch. I take off immediately. "You've gotten really good Hermione," Draco shouts as he rockets up next to me. "I almost wish I wasn't playing against you in the coming match."
"Well it's not like well be playing directly opposite eachother," I shout back, "you'll be seeker and I'll be chaser." We had just started working on chasing the day before. I was pretty good considering I'd spent a lot of time helping Ginny and Ron with their quidditch games, I'd just done it all on foot before.
I'd just gotten my fifteenth goal against Draco when it happened. "Draco," I scream. "Help." He looks down and sees me falling.
"I'm coming Hermione," and he shoots down towards the ground. Out of the corner of my eye I see a green object falling next to me. "Shit," Draco shouts.
*Draco's pov* (you're welcome all you drapplers)
Time seemed to slow to a stop. Hermione or the apple? The apple or Hermione? Which to choose? Now was the deciding moment. The time when I had to decide which was more important. Hermione was falling fast and nearing the ground but the apple. Hermione could be fixed by madam Pomfrey. The apple would be unrepairable, but Hermione is a human while the apple is just a — well apple.
That was when I decided. I dived straight toward the apple while using my wand to cast a spell that would cushion Hermione's fall. Hermione's screams echo in my ears. Did I make the wrong choice? The second I catch the apple I know I made the right choice. I fly down and meet Hermione on the ground. I help her up. She looks more than a little annoyed.
"What's that?" She asks.
"What's what?" I reply trying to sound innocent.
"You know, that thing you dived to save. Instead of me," I hope I'm imagining the annoyance in her voice.
"Oh. Never mind that it was nothing." I reply quickly.
"If it was nothing why did you choose it over me?" She sounds angry now.
"Never you mind Hermione. You're tired and confused from your fall. Let's get back up for the castle and rest for a while." She agrees but looks annoyed still. I sigh with relief; both my apple and Hermione are safe.
