He didn't show up at school, even as I walked down towards the cafeteria, and as Roman fell in step with me, I checked my phone for what felt like a billionth time. The message I sent to him last night was still unread, the one from this morning, was the same thing. He didn't return any of my calls, and I was worried. I didn't want show it earlier today, seeing as I presumed he might appear at the middle of class like he did most times, but he didn't.
Was he mad at me cause I didn't stay the night? Surely that wasn't it right? He didn't seem mad when I left yesterday, he seemed pretty much okay.
So why is he ghosting me?
"Still no calls from him?" Roman asked, probably noticing my look of worry as we both reached the cafeteria, getting ourselves plates of food before picking a seat at our normal spot.
"Yeah."
"He's probably busy I guess." Roman said, trying to lighten up my spirits.
"With what?"
He shrugged. "You know, maybe Lithians business."
"You think?" I asked.
"Yeah... I guess... I don't think there's any reason why he'd want to avoid you, or is there?"
I blinked. "Yeah, there might be one... Maybe even two."
Roman gave me a pointed look. "What did you do now?"
"Nothing!" I defended myself. "I mean, nothing he seemed really angry about. He asked me to move in with him, and I told him I'd think about it, and then he said I should stay the night and I refused, but he didn't seem angry before I left yesterday."
Roman blinked. 'Wait a sec, he asked you to move in with him?!"
My eyes widened. "Keep your freaking voice down, Roman."
"Sorry, he asked you to move in with him?" He repeated, now in a whisper.
I sighed, relaxing back on my chair. "Yeah."
"And you said you'd think about it? Have you gone mad? What's there to think about? You're there almost all the time, besides, his house is perfect!"
"I don't know okay? I panicked, it was so sudden! Also, it's a big deal Roman, I don't think I've reached the living together level yet."
"Or you're probably just scared." He noted.
Which I slightly was. When he asked, it was all so sudden. I didn't know how to react or what to say to him. I just couldn't think because my heart had gone so crazy. Ethan, from what I'd noticed, didn't really like visitors, or a room mate buddy, but he wanted me to move in with him, like he wants us to stay together... Alone?
Just the thought of it had me feeling all warm, his acceptance had made me appreciate the fact that he was mine, and he trusted me.
I didn't get the chance to tell him everything yesterday. The guys had interrupted, but I did plan on telling him today...
Today when he's not even picking my calls or bothering to call me back.
I suppressed a groan, rubbing my eyes.
"I'm thinking about it... And since he's mostly alone, I might just consider it."
Roman nodded. "Have you told him about the adoption papers we found? And everything else Glory told you?"
I had told Roman everything Glory had said to me, the reason why she was at that hospital, and what she had been using Ethan for.
"No... I was going to tell him yesterday but, you guys showed up, and I didn't get the chance to." I sighed. "I plan on telling him today though. He has every right to know, and I don't want him to find out from anyone else... They might not know how to break it all down gently in a way he wouldn't get hurt."
"Either way, it's going to hurt." Roman clarified. "It's going to change his whole life and it's not going to stop hurting until he accepts it."
My fingers danced through my hair, my mind not really looking forward to telling Ethan anything, seeing as the last thing I wanted was to hurt him, or to put it upon his shoulder and make him think he was responsible for the fire at his home, years ago.
I knew quite well that he was going to think that. He wouldn't see Glory's fault in it, but his, even if nothing was his fault.
"That reminds me. Before I got kidnapped by the Inc Lords, I got a feedback from my sources."
I furrowed my brows, sitting up. "Feedback on what?" I asked.
"Nathan Murray."
My heart skipped a beat. Ethan's twin brother. "Please tell me he's alive."
"He is."
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
"He's living very fine in Kansas, Missouri. Just recently got the perfect foster family, senior year in highschool."
"That's great news. He's Alive, Ethan needs to know that."
Roman nodded.
"Do you think Glory knows about Nathan?"
He shrugged. "We all know Glory is sort of, all knowing..."
"She might also be in the background of his life, just like she is with Ethan's. She did say she grew fond of the Murray twins, Ethan especially."
"I'll ask my sources to keep a close eye on Nathan, should in case anything out of the ordinary pops up, we'll be informed."
I nodded.
Nathan is alive... Ethan needs to know this.
I picked up my phone, sending a quick text message to him.
Me:
Hey Trev, I don't know why you're not picking my calls, or replying to any of my texts. But please call me back when you get this, there's something I've got to tell you, it's pretty urgent and important. Call me. I love you.
Ethan
My eyes felt heavy as I tried to lift them open. The distant sound of someone whistling reached my ear. I winced when my eyes finally came open, the bright lights all around me, telling me I wasn't in my house. I tried to move, but I felt so stiff. I paused, my eyes taking in my body strapped to a small bed.
My head fell back on the uncomfortable pillow, my jaw clenching.
The facility.
"Ah, you're finally awake. I was beginning to get really bored alone." Silas' voice reached my ear, before I saw his figure approaching. "How are you feeling sleeping beauty, you sure took your time."
My eyes moved around the empty room.
"What am I doing here?"
"I'm in no position to tell." He smirked. "I'm only here to kill you again each time you wake up... But first, let's have a little chat. You're fun to talk to." He grinned.
"Where's Glory?"
"Oh, Mom's not home." He said. "She'll be here soon though."
I tried to fight off the restraints.
"Don't bother. You won't be able to get out of them... Trust me, when I was at your stage, I tried everything."
"What the fuck are you talking about?" I asked.
"You don't know?" He asked, his brows raised. "You're one of the Patient Zeros... I mean we're only two in existence. That's you and me. Cool eh?"
His fist connected with my shoulder, smiling like we were old buddies.
"I'm not patient zero, last I checked, this dimension has been in existence before I was even born."
He shook his head. "Yes, that's right. But I'm not talking about this dimension bro."
My brows etched down in confusion. "Then what are you talking about?"
He smirked. "Not my story to share, sleeping beauty."
I scoffed, looking away, already knowing getting out of whatever this is, was going to be quite impossible.
He dragged a chair to the bedside, turning it around with the back of the chair facing me, while he sat on it in a way he'd still be facing me, both arms propped on the edge of the chair, as he watched me.
"How am I alive?" I asked.
"That I can answer." He grinned. "Immortality."
"What?" I asked, my attention snapping to him. "Immortality?"
"Yes, you and I, Ethan... Are immortals... We can die, but, give it an hour or 5, we'll be back up, like nothing ever happened. At first I thought I was the only one but then-- Glory told me about you, funny she also just figured it out."
"But how-"
"That's all I can tell you."
Suddenly he grinned. "Enough of the serious talks... Tell me... Who's Fisher?"
I stilled, watching him pull out my phone from his pocket. "Due to the way she texts, I can tell she's a girl... And she's been calling and texting you since this morning."
"You went through my phone? How the hell were you able to open it?"
He smirked. "My skills are just excellent aren't they? So who's she? Your girlfriend?" He wiggled his brows. "She sounds really worried about you... The last message said she had something pretty important to tell you... Hmm, I'm curious, what might that be? Did you knock her up?"
"God, you're annoying." I groaned, looking away. I could only imagine the bunch of false thoughts swimming through her head right now.
"I should just text her back-"
"No!" My attention turned back to him. "Make that mistake, and she'll come running here with people you don't want to mess with."
He raised a brow. "Relax, she wouldn't know it isn't you, just to ease the poor girl of worry."
"She'll know it isn't. Trust me. Ju-just leave her out of this, okay?"
"Hmm... You seem to really care about her."
My jaw clenched as I watched the smile grow on his face.
"I'm curious, I should probably pay her a little visit."
Anger ran through my veins. "Try it, and fucking die."
"Been there done that." He winked. "But eh." He stood up. "I was 'ordered' not to leave you, so- maybe some other time." He said, walking toward a table at the far end that I couldn't really see.
When he came back, he was holding a syringe, still filled with the same red substance.
"Fuck." I muttered.
"Don't worry, you'll get to the point where it will hurt less." He said, smirking before he connected the needle with my chest, emptying the content straight to my heart.
The effects were immediate. I was gone before I could comprehend the fact that I couldn't breathe.

Being immortal is cool, but when Glory Curt is involved, not so much!
What are they going to do to Ethan?
Is he finally going to know the whole truth, and not from Ivy?
