Roman

As epic as today was, I never want to ever experience it, ever again. I threw my bag high up into my room first, before climbing up the escape ladder so I could get into my house without anyone noticing. The last thing I wanted was my mom finding out that I sneaked out.

That was Kyles' move, not mine.

I lifted myself, and slipped into my room through the window.

Well at least, my first time sneaking out of the house wasn't a total failure.

I managed to find my way to the other side of the room to switch on the light, because it was dark.

I wonder how Ivy's doing? She had been so worried about Ethans' reaction. But honestly, I knew he wouldn't be so angry to the extent that he'd hate her.

Although, he never once said a word to me, but the look in his eyes told me we had a lot to discuss, and it wouldn't be a friendly one.

My fingers looked for the switch on the wall, and finally, I felt it, then switched on the light. Immediately I did, I knew there was someone else in the room with me.

Probably my Mom? My Dad or Kyle... Either way, I dreaded looking backwards because when it comes to explaining myself, I suck.

"Late night outing?"

My brows etched low in a frown. What?

I turned immediately, finding Fiona sitting crossed legs at the edge of my bed, taking a bite from my moms' infamous red fresh apples she never ran out of.

My eyes widened in shock, as questions  began to pop everywhere in my head. "F-Fiona?"

Her lips kicked up in a corner as she chewed. It was an action that didn't seem to do well with her persona.

"Hi Roman." She said after swallowing. "I hope you don't mind." She gestured to the Apple. "I raided your fridge. And those apples seemed to be the first thing to catch my attention. They're really... Delicious."

I stood there, adorned with the costume Ivy made me wear, and I was just imagining how ridiculous I looked to her. But that wasn't the case right now.

"How the hell did you get in here?" I asked, confusion blessing every word that dropped out of my mouth.

She shrugged. "Same way you did just now." She said like it was no big deal.

I shook my head. "How? You- you used the ladder?"

She nodded.

"How?"

A smile grew on her lips. "I grew up with boys, and most times, we play dangerous games at night. Climbing up a ladder is like a normal thing where I grew up... Trust me, I didn't break a sweat."

This still wasn't making any sense.

She uncrossed her legs, stood up, and walked over to my table, dropping the apple on a small plate, before turning towards me.

Her eyes raked me from toe to head. "Wow. You look-"

"Different, I know-"

"Better." She completed, ignoring me.

My brows furrowed in confusion. "What? Better?"

She nodded. "This look suits you."

"It does?"

"Yeah."

There was something different about the way she spoke and looked at me. She was wearing a knee length flowery gown, with a black jacket. her hair was left loose, and her bangs fell beautifully above her eyes. This made me notice the difference... She wasn't putting on her glasses. And it made her eyes look, dark. In other words, she looked even more beautiful, and familiar.

I shook my head off my thoughts. "Why are you here? It's late."

"Home was boring, and I couldn't stop thinking about you and our conversation at Janie's party. So, I thought I could come here and figure out the reason why I couldn't stop thinking about you, and when I didn't see you, I decided to wait. Where did you run off to, anyway?"

I blinked. "You- you couldn't stop thinking about me?" Was the only thing I could let out.

This felt weird, and at the same time, heart moving. Yeah, my heart had taken another turn the moment she said she couldn't stop thinking about me.

No one has ever said that to me... I mean, what makes me so special to earn such words from her.

She nodded. "Where were you?"

I swallowed. "Out."

"With someone else?" She asked, her face falling.

"W-w-w-well... Yeah, but... It wasn't like a date or something... It was just some- assignment thing that we had to take care of." Why the hell am I even explaining myself?

"Oh... That's great then. But it gets dangerous at night, considering how late it is."

"I should be the one telling you that." I said. "And it's late, don't you think you should- you should get going? I'll unlock the front door so you wouldn't have to climb down the ladder."

She made her way towards me. "Like I said, Roman... Home was boring, and I needed a distraction, I couldn't think of anyone else but you."

"What? What are you trying to say?" I asked, still confused.

She stopped right In front of me, her dull brown eyes which didn't seem to suite her face, didn't leave mine for a second. "I'm saying that, I have an habit of getting things done and out of my system, and right now, you look super badass and it's messing with me."

"Excuse me?"

"Are you that clueless?" She grinned wickedly.

"I'm sorry, but it's not everyday a girl like you shows up in my room in the middle of the night, telling me she couldn't stop thinking about me... It's sort of confusing Fiona."

She smiled. "A girl like me? Do you find me attractive, Roman?"

I blinked. "Well, yeah... I mean, any guy would find you attractive, you're really attractive, but- why would you- I still don't understand-"

"I'm attracted to you too, and that explains why I can't stop thinking about you."

"What?"

"I might just happen to like you, Roman Huxley."

"We barely even know each other, Fiona." I said, my heart increasing it's pace.

"I know- but it's really-"

She was cut off by the sound of her phone ringing. "Excuse me, could be my Mom." She slipped her hand into her jacket pocket, pulling out her phone.

I gulped, letting out a breath of relief.

When she saw the caller ID, she frowned, sneaking a glance at me before answering the call. "Hey Trev-" she stopped, her frown deepened. "Ivy?" She said.

With the mention of Ivy's name, my interest spiked up.

"Wa-wa-wait- hold on, slow down Ivy." She stuttered, worry lacing her voice.

What could have happened?

"What!? What do you mean- wait- okay- okay- I'll let him know." With that she brought the phone down from her ear.

"What's wrong? What happened?" I asked her.

She seemed lost in her thought.

I held her shoulder. "Fiona, talk to me."

She shook her head absentmindedly. "We- we have to get there."

"Where?"

"Ivys', we have to hurry."

"What happened?"

"It's Et- Trevor, he- somethings happened to him... We have to hurry." She said, already rushing towards my window.

"Wait- we can go through the front door."

"I don't have that kind of time." With that, she was out the window before I could blink.

I rushed towards the window, looking down to find her standing and waiting impatiently for me.

She gestured with her hand for me to hurry up; but my head was still finding it difficult to comprehend how she jumped down that height without sustaining an injury.

But then I paused...

Why the hell does she seem so concerned? What could have happened to Ethan? Was it me or did she stop herself from calling him Ethan earlier? Why does it feel like I know Fiona, and yet again, why does it feel like I don't?
