Ivy
Imagination was one thing I loved doing... It opened my senses to different possibilities, different things you'd never think was possible; imagination was that wonderful image you had every night before you go to bed, whereby you see yourself, standing in front of a large crowd, yelling out your name and throwing you roses after a jaw dropping performance.
In all, imagination was safe.
I had pictured the Rebel sector to be less scarier than what I was currently standing and staring at.
The ground was wet, the weather was dark and chilled, the tall skyscraper buildings, hunted the skies like abandoned shadows. The sound of cackling fire was in the air, coupled with a sound of iron hitting iron. Roman and I stood in what looked like a silent street... There was no one around, and I found it really weird. It wasn't as packed as the purest sector.
I looked back at where the portal once stood.
it was long gone.
I gulped down, looking back ahead of me.
This didn't scream safe. No, it screamed danger, death, pain and agony.
Maybe Roman was right, we were supposed to be more prepared.
"Why is it so noisily silent in here?" Roman's voice was like a forbidden chill in the air... We weren't meant to be here, it was quite obvious.
I shook my head. "I don't know, I suddenly don't feel too positive about this, even the atmosphere is rejecting us."
Roman gripped his bagpack. "We shouldn't start what we can't finish... Let's look for something picture worthy and get the hell out of here." He said, taking a step forward on the wet ground.
I looked around once more, before falling in line with him.
The ground beneath our feet echoed with each step we took. As we walked further, passing through dark buildings after dark buildings, Roman brought out his camera, taking shots after shots of anything out of place.
A distant sound of a lose stringed violin, sent chills down my spine, followed by a dark wind of terror, swaying my ponytail from left to right.
"Alright, let's head back- I think we-"
"Do you hear that?" I stopped him from speaking when I heard voices from afar... It aided the sound of a distant electronic music, and careless teenagers.
"A party?" Roman asked.
"Sounds like one." I said, my feet taking me towards the direction of the sound.
Roman held my elbow immediately, pulling me back. "We can't... Its dangerous. What if we're seen?"
"Then we make sure we don't get seen." I gritted out.
"What do you mean?" He asked with clear confusion.
"We make ourselves invisible."
He raised a sarcastic brow. "Oh, then enlighten me dear miss Fisher, the grey pill wasn't supposed to make us invisible to robot people or is there something I'm missing here?" He whispered harshly with gritted teeth. "We have enough pictures already, I'm not gonna keep on pushing my luck with this... I don't know about you Ivy, but I'm sure as hell not ready to die now."
I shrugged away from his hold. "We need humanly proof... Taking a few pictures of scary skyscrapers won't convince the authorities. We need to show them that citizens are involved in this madness."
Roman's brows furrowed in annoyance. "We can't just burst in their par-"
"What do we have here?" A slurred voice ecoed from ahead.
Our heads shot simultaneously towards the direction of the voice.
There stood a guy with sandy blonde hair and bloodshot eyes, with his lips stained with a disgusting smirk. The only relieving thing was that, he was wearing something similar to what Roman and I were putting on.
"We're screwed." Roman muttered beside me.
"We're not, he can't figure us out... We're dressed alike, there's absolutely no-"
"Yo, Ralph! Come check this out... Humans in Reb." He yelled out.
"Shit." I muttered, as an unfamiliar aderaline pumped in my veins. I literally felt the hair on my skin rise.
It didn't take long before two more guys appeared from the shadows of the night. They both had jet black hair, one was wearing a white lose shirt with a splash of red, designing the front, coupled with a ripped skinny jeans, while the other black haired guy remained adorned in black.
"Whoa." The guy with the blood stained T-shirt voiced out. "Real people." He said, staring at us like we were aliens from another planet.
The overall black adorned guy rolled his eyes. "Ignore him, he's drunk."
"And you're not?" My mouth shot out.
Roman shot me a look.
The guy gave me a look of surprise.
"Ouuu... Fiesty little bitch." The bloodshot guy voiced out.
"How did you get in here?" Blood stained asked.
"The same way you got in here." I replied.
His nose scrunched up in disgust. "Huh? You don't have a dick do you? I got dragged in here with my dick so-"
"Shut the fuck up, Yates." All black adorned guy shot out at Yates.
"What? Didn't you hear what she just said, Ralph? She got dragged in here the same way I did, which only means, she'd have a dick, because I got dragged in here with my dick... Not physically, but a girl I remember as uh- was it serah? Jenna? Bridget? Britney?"
"Jessica?" Roman voiced out, surprising me. I gave him a look, and he only shrugged.
"Yes, that's the one... Jessica. Oh...was it a night to remember." Yates said, looking at the black starless sky above us.
"Enough of this... Inc rules says, kill a human on sight... Why the fuck are we stalling." Bloodshot said, taking purposeful steps forward.
"We gotta run." Roman yelled.
"To where? There's a black wall of nothingness behind us. I'll distract them... you, look for the pills in your bag pack."
"There are no pills left in my bagpack... They were in yours... And how the hell are you hoping to-"
I threw my bag at him, as bloodshot grew closer. "Find them, hurry!" I said, puting myself in a fighting stance...
I had no idea on what I was doing, I was just doing it.
Like a speed of light, bloodshot threw his fist in the air, aiming for my face... I surprised myself by bending to a side avoiding the blow before it reached me.
He stumbled forward, turning towards me with a look of confusion.
"I played my fair share of dodge ball in ICHS. Ever heard of it? Its a school named after Ice cream."
"What?" He shot out.
"Stupid right? Yeah... I thought so too." I said, my breathing strained; glad that I succeeded in distracting him as my fist on their own accord, gathered all the strength my body could muster, as it connected with his jaw, sending him flying straight into the shadows right in front of me.
Silence filled the spaces between where I, Roman, Yates and Ralph stood.
His back hitting the trash can at the other side of the street with a loud echo, was the only thing that broke the silence.
I looked down at my red fist in shook, as my heart pumped times two pints of blood through my veins.
"What. The. Fuck." Roman cursed. His eyes popping out of their sockets as he stared at me in shock.
I stood there frozen for a second, feeling my body buzz with an unfamiliar excitement, that some how had me charging towards the two stunned guys standing far ahead.
Ralph frowned, taking a fighting stance as I charged forward, cracking my knuckles with a sick smile on my face.
I felt like a totally different person, my blood felt so hot and I wanted to release that heat on someone... I just wanted to hit something so bad.
So freaking bad.
He made an attempt to pounce on me as I got close enough, but I charged a hard blow to his well sculptured stomach.
He made a oof sound, grabbing my wrist and twisting it behind me, so now my back was to his hard chest.
"Do you even know where you are?" His hot alcoholic breath fanned my neck as he spoke.
"Of course I do Ralph, I've spent my whole life with chauvinistic delinquents, I'm sure I can handle a little pack of drunk horny robotic teenage boys." I gritted out, stomping my boot on his feet and hitting my back head straight to his face.
He let me go immediately, holding his bleeding nose. "Fuck- you fucking broke my freaking nose."
I shot him a sweet smile, "I love your sense of literature."
"Fuck! What are you?" He asked in pain.
I smirked, breathing heavily, as I walked up to him, pulling him upright by his soft locks. "Well, what can I say Ralph?"
He glared, forcefully, pushing me away, I stumbled back a little... He took that opportunity to throw a punch my way, but my reflexes acted before I could even blink, I moved away from his aim immediately, and when I turned, my left leg automatically lifted from the wet ground connecting with his right jaw, the impact sending him straight to the ground.
I crouched in front of him, breathing like a girl who just survived a desert race. "I'm only human." I whispered, about to land another blow to his jaw when the sound of guns unlocking from their safety pulled me to a stop.
"That's quite enough of that, isn't it? get up slowly." A familiar american accent resounded from behind me.
To my right, I saw armed men, grabbing hold of Roman roughly.
Shit.
I rose to my feet. Slowly turning around with my hands raised.
I found black shadow like people, aiming their guns at me and Roman, but her face was close enough for me to register.
When her chocolate eyes met mine, they widened. "Well, I'll be damned. Ivy Fisher?" She lowed her gun.
Double Shit.
I lowered my hands, feeling light pins of pain on my knuckles as I spoke.
"Hello again, Edith."
