Ivy
"Excuse me?" I asked, wanting to make sure I heard her wrong.
She only smiled. "For your average IQ, you're still so stupid." She muttered.
Why in hell was she being so mean? What did I do to her? "If only that bitch didn't get in the way, I wouldn't have to worry about you anymore." She said.
"Worry about me? Wait- you did that on purpose?"
"You think I threw the ball at your direction by mistake?" She scoffed. "Fiona just had to be in the way, that bitch."
"Why would you want to hurt me? What did I do to you?" I asked, feeling weird, I was getting the danger vibe from her, and I didn't like it one bit.
She shrugged. "I just hate your face." She said.
I was taken aback by that. My face? Why would she hate my face? She was prettier than me, that's a fact... So what's so annoying about my face?
"Listen here Caramel, you're new here, and I don't usually act rude towards people, but you don't just get to throw death balls at peoples faces, just because you don't like it. Does that even sound right to you? You could have killed somebody." I said, picking my words carefully.
"So?"
I gasped. "So? So you should feel sorry, and apologize to Fiona, she's hurt because of you. That's no way to treat someone."
She frowned. "Do you mind teaching me then?" She took a step closer to me, I took a step back.
"Listen... I'm not looking for trouble. All I'm saying is that, what you did was wrong, I don't like it, and I'm not just gonna keep quiet about it."
"You should." She gritted.
"You don't scare me." I blurted out, wondering where that came from. "I know you did it for a reason, and whatever it is, it has nothing to do with my face. I know you're not mean, you're just angry, and you're looking for someone to throw your anger on." I said.
"You think?"
"I know." I said, feeling my heart pick up pace. "You're going to apologize to Fiona, it's a miracle that she's okay, that wasn't just an ordinary throw, you were aiming for me-"
"Damn straight I was." She said, cutting me off.
"What happened to you?"
"Would you rather I showed you." She gritted, about to raise her hand when-
"Hey!" She jumped and so did I.
My eyes widened when Trevor pulled me away from her, his eyes had gone dark, the look he had on his face could make the most strongest man faint. He turned to Caramel. "Leave." He said, there was an authority to his voice, it made me shiver in fear, he was like a different person.
Caramel took a step back. "You can't just -"
"I. Said. Leave." He cut her off.
I watched the scene, it was almost like an alpha giving an instruction to a rebellious member of its pack.
Caramel smirked, almost as if she had gotten exactly what she wanted from him. Then she retreated slowly, gesturing with her finger to her eyes, practically telling us she would be watching.
I looked away from her direction, to find Trevor, blinking, almost as if he was in a daze before. "Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah... I am... What the hell was that?" I asked him.
"It was nothing, I saw her bugging you... You looked like you needed help." He said, looking like he wasn't understanding himself.
"I didn't, I was handling it pretty well." I said... I was, wasn't I?
"I could see that... I saw what happened out there, you fell. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine Trev. But Fiona isn't."
He cocked a brow. "Fiona?"
"She's new, transferred today." I said, watching how his face scrunched up, like he was thinking of something, "What is it?"
"Where is she?"
"Who? Fiona?"
"Yeah."
"She's uh... In the medical unit, I guess. Why?" I asked.
He shook his head. "It's nothing, I just-" he paused, contemplating something. "It's nothing." He finally said.
I knew he was hiding something. "I've got something planned out for the both of us, after school."
"Really? What?"
He smiled. "It's a surprise."
"I hate surprises."
"Even better. I'll see you after school, I've got extra practice with Kyle."
"With Kyle?" I asked with wide eyes.
"Yeah, he wasn't getting somethings... I'm gonna help him straighten them out." He smirked. "If you know what I mean."
"That could mean so many things... So many many uncomfortable things."
"I'm only kidding," he chuckled. "Text you when I'm done?"
"Yeah, I'll be waiting." I smiled back.
"Cool." He said, placing a light kiss on my cheek, before jogging to his team mates.
My unsteady heart was acting more unsteady than it already was, my mind had temporarily gone blank.
My fingers grazed where his lips touched. I couldn't help but give a dreamy smile as I made my way back into school.

I knocked gently before entering the room Fiona had been admitted in. Yes, ICHS had a medical unit... I know almost all schools had that, but ICHS had the kind that looked like an hospital.
"Hey." I said softly to her as I closed the door gently. She was typing away on her phone... There was a patch over her nose. She turned to me as soon as she heard my voice.
She tried to smile. "Hi... You should be in your next class."
"No way, not while you're in here because of me." I smiled sadly. "I'm so sorry, this isn't a good way to start your first day at ICHS."
"Stop it Ivy, this isn't your fault. It's highschool. Stuff happens, and trust me, it doesn't hurt a bit."
"You've got a broken nose, Fiona... They said it hurts like hell."
She smiled. "I'm good, honestly."
"Thanks, it should have been me." I said sadly.
"I'm glad it wasn't, this would have been a different story, trust me."
I scrunched my brows. "What do you mean?"
Her eyes widened, almost as if she had said something she wasn't supposed to. "Uh... I mean that, I would have been pretty sad about it, I tend to get emotional when people I uh... I take a liken to, get hurts... Besides, I pushed you on instincts. I was hoping the ball wouldn't hit me."
"But it did. Surprised you just got a broken nose. At the rate the ball was going, it was meant to do more damage." I said, almost to myself.
"What?" She asked.
My eyes widened. "No uh... That's not what I meant. I meant that-" what's the point in explaining myself? "Forget it..."
She smiled. "Maybe when you're less busy, I could teach you how to kick ass in volleyball." She said.
"Oh really? Who taught you?"
"Learnt today." She said.
I raised my brow. "Oh... Thats- that's uh... Cool, I guess." I said, unsure of what to reply her. "When I'm less busy."
She smiled.
I stayed with her for a couple of minutes before heading to Library to see Roman.
Despite the events of this afternoon, Trevor's past was still number one on my mind.
But still, there was something off about Fiona. Something I couldn't grasp.
