"Gauri, see who has come to meet you!" Gauri's mother called her from downstairs, as soon as she heard her call, a smile adorned Gauri's till now gloomy face.

Leaving the pen with which she was writing something on a paper, Gauri instantly ran downstairs with a huge smile on her face.

"Happy birthday my angel!" Annika exclaimed smiling as she opened her arms expecting a hug from her sister.

"Thank you Dii..." Gauri said as ignoring Annika's open arms, she tried looking behind her.

"Kya hua?" Annika questioned confused as she saw Gauri trying to search someone behind her.

"Dii...Woh O..." Gauri was cut in the middle by Annika who held her upper arm and made her sit starting to speak herself, "Shivaay Ko Dhund Rahi he, Woh Nahi aaye, maine itna Kaha par Kaam Se fursat Kahan hain Unhe, Par haan Unhone Tere Liye Gift Bheja Hai."

Without waiting for Gauri's reply, Annika opened one of the many Bags that she had kept on the sofa and took out a small wrapped box from inside, "Isme Kya hai dii?" Gauri tried to show the excitement in her voice which was actually not really there, she had realized that no one accompanied Annika.

Opening the packet with a taut smile, she saw a pendent with a diamond studded 'G' inside, "Dii, its beautiful..." Gauri said this time genuinely smiling at her Jiju's thoughtfulness.

"Arey, Aur bhi gifts hain, Badi Maa , Bade Papa, Maa-Papa, Priyanka, Dadi, Rudy...and Sabse important..." Gauri's excitement returned as she heard Annika.

"Sabse Important?"

"Mera..." Annika smiled excitedly as she picked the bags one by one and handed to Gauri. Gauri's smile faded at the same speed at which it had returned.

"Kisi aur ne gift nahi bheja?" Gauri tried asking genuinely but she was clearly desperate.

"Arey aise baat nahi, Gift toh Hari Kaka Bhi tere liye bhijwana Chahte the Par Maine Kaha, Unki Itni badi family hai,aur salary normal, Tere liye gifts bhejne mein Kyun Paise waste Karwana unke, Tere Pass toh already sab kuch hai toh unka Ashirwad hi Kafi Hai..." Annika smiled as she caressed Gauri's cheeks.

"Hari Kaka, it's really sweet of him...Unhe meri Taraf se thanks bolna." Gauri said as she stared at the gifts angrily.

"Dii, Omkara ne kuch Gift nahi Bheja?"Gauri asked straightforwardly as a last resort.

"Omkara, Usse Kahan Yaad Hoga tera Birthday, Waise Bhi Na Tu Uski friend hai, na girlfriend, na Behen..Also bohot busy hai subah se, Usne breakfast bhi nahin Kiya, Subah se room mein kuch Bana Raha hai, Mahashivratri Ke liye I guess." Annika said as Gauri literally glared at her at the word, 'Behen'.

After some time, resolving to the new found information, Gauri soon got engrossed in her chit chat with Annika and seeing the gifts send by the Oberoi family members.

"By the way, Everyone wanted to come to meet you but then Shivaay had his meeting and even Omkara was also at home so Badi Maa suggested that we all can celebrate your birthday in a small get together tonight for dinner, just both the families, Omkara is also so busy, he would again refuse to come for dinner..." Annika was cut in between by Gauri.

"But dii, I planned an outing with my friends , tonight, anyways, whats the use , all of us won't be there..." Gauri said as she was cut by Annika.

"Arey, atleast let me complete, then take a decision, what I was saying was that Omkara would again refuse but hearing about Mummy-Dad and you coming, he'll definitely come, otherwise he'll be in room for ages, but yes if you don't want, then no problem, I understand, off course you'll like to celebrate your birthday with your friends rather than boring family, Okay no problem, I'll tell Badi Maa." Annika said sadly.

"But why would Omkara come out hearing the news of my coming, Mein toh Naa Uski Friend Hoon, Na Girlfriend Aur Na hi Behen na Dii." Gauri imitated Annika who in turn raised her eyes to stare at her with raised eyebrows, ignoring Annika replied.

"Off course, But you are like a sister to his Elder brother na and actual sister of his sister-in-law so off course you are like a sis..." Gauri's eyes widened as pausing for a second Annika corrected herself, in between she concealed a laughter.

"Like a friend to him but why would you care about him?" Annika questioned with a straight face.

Gauri was irritated, "Dii, I want everyone to be there na, anyways ,I am in, we are coming , anyways, it's been ages I have celebrated birthday with family, Mumma-Dad also must be wishing to have some time with me na, so I am in." Gauri sugar-coated her words while Annika laughed nodding.

'Atleast I'll be able to see him." Gauri thought as she smiled at Annika.

**

Night:

"I am so angry Mumma, I am the birthday girl and you and Dad came without me, you could have waited na, now I had to come alone." Gauri said angrily over the phone as she got out of her car and started walking holding her phone with one and her gown to walk properly with other hand.

"So what can I do, you took ages to get ready." Her mother said from the other side complaining.

"Oh really, I was told to come by 9:00, you got ready and left by 7:00, How am I late?"

"Acha now leave all this, come fast, we have to cut the cake." Gauri's mother cut the call instantly as Gauri frowned.

As Gauri walked further inside, suddenly lights vanished from everywhere in the otherwise fully lit Oberoi Mansion, "Yeh..." Gauri was starting to speak to herself as her eyes fell in the garden area where the light returned, fairly lights and light globes hanging around glowed from there as a smile climbed up her lips, she ran to the garden area.

As she reached there, she expected everyone to wish her merrily but all she witnessed was silence, "Nobody here..." Gauri thought as she looked around, the whole garden was decorated beautifully, with balloons, fairy lights, light globes, ballons etc. and a small table for two was kept in the middle with a cake reading 'Happy Birthday Gauri'.

"But the decorations are beautiful, must have been done by Om..." Gauri was speaking to herself excitedly as she paused mid-way.

Hitting her head lightly, she said, "Omkara, I am mad, why would he plan it, He is so busy afterall...Mera birthday Tak yaad nahi raha usse toh...Kya Hojata Agar yaad rakh leta toh." Gauri's excitement took form of anger.

Angrily, she ran inside the Mansion as lights were back there by now.

"Gau..." Omkara hit his head lightly as he came out of a bush he was hiding behind, "Yeh toh Gussa Hogayi,Mujhe Bahar Bhi Nahi Anne Diya, Bhabhi Karkar Kya Ayin Hain." Omkara said to himself as his one hand was on his waist and other on his head.

Entering inside, Gauri witnessed the whole family talking as her eyes searched her 'someone special'.

"Arey Gauri, Itni Jald...I mean late, Tum Toh Kabki Bahar Thi..." Gauri's mother said with a mischievous smile.

"Maa, Who did those decorations outside, Jiju you?" Gauri questioned desperately as all family members looked at each other in surprise.

"Oh...G...G...Gauri, Happy Birthday!" Shivaay said as getting his cue all Oberoi family members followed with their 'Happy Birthday' wishes coming out of the surprise.

"Jiju, Leave that na, answer me..."Gauri asked desperately as her eyes moved at the entrance of Omkara's room upstairs which was visible from there.

"Which decorations, Nobody out of us did any decorations, what are you talking about dii?" Rudra acted confused as Gauri stared at him angrily.

"Rudra, you are a dumbo, come let me show you." She held his hand and took him out and as soon as she went, everyone took a deep breath.

"Omkara bhi na, Abb Tak Nahi Bol Saka." Annika finally spoke breaking the silence.

"Yeh Decorations..." Gauri's face was turned to Rudra as she was coming with him in the garden.

Rudra looked at someone behind Gauri as looking at his fixed eyes , she turned to look at the garden area, standing there in front of her was Omkara.

A smile climbed up her lips as she unknowingly left Rudra's hand who giving a 'look' to Omkara ran inside.

"Happy Birthday!" Omkara gave gauri a 440 volt smile , a bit awkward as Gauri kept looking at him with her own 880 volt smile.

"You, You were busy right?" Gauri questioned almost in a trance as she tilted her head still with the smile.

"Yes, because...because I wanted to prepare something for you na, after all it's your birthday today,by the way I prepared this..." Omkara handed Gauri a card as she took it with a smile.

'I Love you' The first page read, Gauri kept the card on the table and as soon as she did,  Omkara's smile faded away, Gauri said excitedly, "You know, How badly I wanted you to wish me because ...because even I Love you, you , couldn't you atleast wish me before, Propose I can understand." Gauri smiled as she almost jumped.

"Bhabhi Ka plan tha..." Omkara said innocently as Gauri's mouth opened wide, "Achaaa...Dii but leave it, abb muh se toh bol do." Gauri said innocently.

"I Love you..."Omkara looked deep into Gauri's eyes, "...Baki card toh pura dekh lo, please." Omkara said with the same innocence as Gauri.

Nodding, Gauri picked up the card again and opened it, inside the big card was a beautiful painting of a girl and a boy sitting by a lake and watching the star filled sky, their backs facing the viewer.

Gauri smiled as she remembered how Omkara and her had their first actual interaction sitting by a lake viewing the star filled sky, it had so happened that once when Gauri had come to meet Annika in the Oberoi Mansion, Annika told Omkara to leave her back to home when she was returning since it was late, Omkara and Gauri who were till now exchanging silent glances at each other or a few formal words at various instances from ShivIka's wedding agreed instantly , while on the way, Gauri saw the lake and insisted to sit by lakeside for a while, Omkara who himself was smitten by the view agreed and in the process, they both had their first actual conversation talking about the beauty of the view, about the beauty of stars and some more deeper things.

"It's beautiful!" Gauri exclaimed as Omkara smiled.

"I don't know when or how it happened Gauri, I was searching for my love outside but God send her at my very home, I truly love you alot, Will you be mine forever? Will you marry me?" Omkara proposed her as he held her hands.

Smiling and blushing, Gauri nodded as they both heard claps from behind, the whole Oberoi and Sharma family members were clapping and smiling as Rudra and Annika hooted.

"Finally, Mere Bhole Devar ne Meri Nakchadi Behen Ko propose kar hi diya, Waise kabse chal raha hai yeh Gulu-Gulu?" Annika questioned as she went and kept her hands on Omkara's shoulders.

"Annika,Language..."

"Bhabhi..."

"Dii Language!" The three of them , Shivaay, Gauri and Omkara said at the same time, Shivaay-Gauri irritated and Omkara blushing.

"Rudra, Teri wali na mein decide Karungi, Omkara Toh Pata nahi kya yeh High-Fi le aaya" Annika said glaring at Gauri who opened her mouth wide.

"Mein Na apki choti Behen Hun..." Gauri stated as Annika stared at her squinting her eyes.

"Lagti Toh Shivaay Ki Hai...Acha, tu Chod na... Rudra done?" Annika said. Rudra nodded smiling.

"Shadi Chod, Padhai Kar Tu Abhi..." Omkara glared at Rudra who again nodded making faces at Omkara.

"Abb cake cut karlein yaa sidha Shadi ka hi Katogi?" Shivaay questioned Gauri as she lips-ed a 'Jiju' with a blush at his comments.

All laughed as Gauri went ahead and cut the cake, this time feeding the first bite to Omkara.

"Acha, abb hum andar apni boring party enjoy karte hain Varna yeh log mann hi mann pata nahi kitni galliyan De rahe honge humme." Annika said after Gauri fed the cake to everyone.

Gauri gave her a glare as Annika laughed, all Oberoi family members moved inside leaving the couple alone to spend some quality time.

Also sorry for this continuous language variation, I write in flow and end up writing dialogues either in Hindi or English unknowingly but if there is any problem with understanding Hindi with anyone, do let me know, I'll give the English subtitles also.
