Chapter Thirteen.
So Darien was suspended until Wednesdays; it's whatever. But what pissed him off was having to watch Lena kiss that prick asshole Joey Wright! He doesn't know why he's so angry about it! Why should he care so much if she kisses him? But fire still burned in him, pissing him off!
He hit Ash's dashboard and grumbled under his breath.
"Dude, calm down!” Ash said. "Don't take your anger you have out on my car. What were you thinking anyways, Darien? I thought we talked about no fighting when while you here or I'm going to have to ship you off to another family member.”
"You don't get it, Ash.” he said.
"Explain it to me, then.” he said. "Why in your right mind made you say something like that to a teacher, get high in the middle of school, and punch another student for?”
"I had a bad day, okay.” Darien said.
"It's about her, isn't it?” he asked.
Darien looked at him confused, "Huh?”
"Lena Russo.", he said. "Ever since you brought her over last week, you've been acting more...strange.”
"You’re crazy, man.", Darien said. "I don't care about her.”
"Ah,” he smiled. "I didn't say care, I said acting different.”
"Shut up.", Darien said.
"Darien, the girl is nice. She comes from a really respected family. They're known for being caring people and I'm sure she just want to help you.” he said.
"I don't need to be rescued.” he said.
"I'm not saying that! I'm just saying. . . Lena a cool nice girl. She could help maybe get your life straighten and maybe you might as cheesy as it sound, fall in love with each other. Her brothers had these amazing girlfriend in high schools and they're all happy. You know, maybe that's just what you’re afraid of.”
"Of what?” Darien asked, looking at Ash like he was crazy.
"Being happy.” he said. "You walk around always look angry or pissed. How about a smile for once.”
"What is there to smile about?” he asked. "My parents are dead, no one in both sides wants me, and I'm getting stalked by some girl who won’t leave me alone!”
He chuckled to Darien surprised, "Did you just say Lena stalking you? You’re crazy, man. The chick totally madly in love with you.”
"Just shut up.", Darien said. "And you're the crazy one.”

Next day.
Lena ran with the soccer ball at her feet, trying to make it to the goalie before her cousin Marci could take it from her. She go tail Marci was on her tail because her scent of her wolf was unmistakable. It was easy to tell another wolf near you.
Right when Lena was a few feet from the goal, she kicked the ball hard with a grunt and it flew passed the girl. Another point of Kings High, but Marci team was still three points ahead of her.
It was half time and it was time for a short break. Lena walked over to where everyone was and took a long drink of her Gatorade.
When she turned, she saw her blonde hair cousin run up to her, "So someone sure seem to be working so hard to night.”
"And I plan on kicking your ass tonight.” Lena playfully teased.
"I wouldn't count on it, Helena.” she said. "You may be my fourth cousin, but I still plan on kicking your ass. I am three points ahead.” she said, playfully punching her arm.
Lean rolled her eyes and stood there, knowing she had planned to talk to Marci about mates. She walked over to where no one was around and Marci followed, "Hey, Marci, when did you find your mate?”
"Andrew?” she questioned and Lena nodded. She smiled happily, "We were both thirteen and I quickly knew right away I would be with him forever. He was kind of shy and nerdy back then, so he couldn't believe he could have someone like me, but I made him see he deserves me and I needed him.”
"He never...made you feel like you don't deserve him?” she asked.
She raised an eyebrow, "What? I don't understand, Lena.” she said. She narrowed her eyes on Lena, "Wait, Lena, did you find yours?” she asked and Lena bit her button lip, nodding. "Oh. Then what's the matter?”
"He's a total asshole.” she said. "He's such a jerk, a bully, a trouble maker, and really disrespectful.”
"Damn.", she said. "How'd you end up getting stuck with him?”
"Well he has a bad past.” she said.
"That doesn't excuse it.", she said. "I wish I could help you, cut, but I can't.”
She sighed, "I know, but thanks though.” she said, a little down since she didn't get any luck like she hoped for. She walked back over to the team and the coach motioned for her to come over to him. She gave him a confused look, but went over to him, "Yes, coach?”
"Are you alright, Lena?” he asked. "You seem so distracted during the whole game. I did hear about a fight yesterday in your grade and you were there.”
"It's nothing, coach, I promise.” she said. "I just...I need to sit down and I can't out here. My head hurt a little also.”
He reached into his back pocket, "In my office are some Tylenol. Go take some, sit for a couple of minute, and I'll have one of the girls come get you when it's time again to start. We need your head clear so we can win this.”
"Thanks.", she said, taking the key and went to her coaches office real quick and grabbed to pills before leaving his office, locked it, and went over to the girl locker room. She took the pills and went up the mirror, fixing her French braid before going over to the bench and sat down, rubbing her temple.
She had a headache from breathing in the chilly air, Darien, and oh, Darien! How stupid could that boy be? And why does he have to be such a jerk? At least she knows he can get jealous and somewhat cares more about then she thought.
She thought about talking to Abigail about this; she knows what it's like to keep a secret and have one messed up family. But she doesn't want to worry Abigail with it when she should just continuing celebrating with Scott over their family they're having.
She didn't know because her brothers were no use in asking because they wouldn't care if Darien was her mate, they'll want to kick his ass. Her dad was definitely out. And her mom, well, she wouldn't understand.
She heard the girl’s locker room door opened and her head towards the direction to see who was coming in. When she thought it was one of the girl, she was surprise to see Darien. Her eyebrows came together and stood at the door.
"My bad, thought it was the bathroom.” he said.
"Missed the sign with the girl in a dress?” she asked.
He leaned against the frame, glaring at her, "My mistake, yeesh.”
She wanted to say something back, but what was the point? Fighting with him was pointless. She just crossed her arm and looked away. She was too tired to fight now to have anything to do with him right now.
"What are you doing here, Darien?” she asked. "Aren't you supposed to be suspended from any school activity?"
"They can't kick me out if they couldn't see me.", he said. "And you asked me to come.”
She snorted, "And you came? How surprising.” she sarcastically said. "Why?”
She heard his footsteps, "Why so down, Sunshine? Where's the glowing glow of yours?”
"It burned out.” she said. He was just making it harder for her by being right next to her cause all she wanted was him to hold and kiss her. But she knew he won’t do that. He probably just bored and looking some something to do. Why not torture the girl who's crazy about him? He'll get real laugh out of it anyways even if he hiding his feelings. "How much trouble did you get? I know your suspended, but for how long?”
"Until Wednesday.” he said. "Gives me a lot of time to catch up on some sleep anyways.”
"Bring me back to my question.” she said, looking up at him. "Why are you here? Can't be just because I ask or you’re bored.”
"I'm here, aren’t I?” he asked, his voice hard. "Isn't what you wanted?”
She scuffed and looked back down at the ground, "What an asshole.” she mumbled.
"What?” he asked.
Her head snapped to him, "You're an asshole!” she all did but scream in his face before looking back at the ground.
He didn't say anything or do anything before he chuckled, "Okay, Sunshine, I get it. You’re angry with me. It's because of yesterday, huh? I remember you said you don't like violence, but hey, I was high off my mind.”
"So you need to be high to show your feelings for me.", she snorted. "Just leave me alone for right now, Darien. I can't stand you right now.” she said, half lying. She was mad and pissed at him, but she didn't want him to leave.
"I'm sorry . . . okay?” he said, his voice calmer to her surprise, but she didn't by it. One minutes he's sweet and charming and the next, he's a jerk again. "Lena, look at me.", he said and she didn't but ignore him. He half sigh--half groaned. Next thing she knew, she felt his hand slid and cup her face, turning her face to him.
Before she could understand what he was doing, she felt his lips on her. She squealed a little and froze. She was about to push him away and yell at him before his arm went around her arm and held her.
That's when she got lost in the kiss and her eyes slid closed. She felt melted against Darien and she couldn't help herself.
She loves kissing him; it's like nothing she ever felt before. She felt sparks, excitement, desire, and a whole bunch of stuff she didn't understand. She wrapped her arms around him and leaned closer to him, pressing her lips against his harder. She didn't realized how closer she was because she was on his lip next. He smelt so much like soap and spice.
Then what ruined it was the door of the locker room opened and she snapped back to quickly because she slid off Darien lap and onto her butt on the hard tile ground.
She looked up at her team meat, Jenny, and they were both blush hard.
"C-coach said it was time to get back.” she said, looking at Darien then Lena again.
"Okay, I'll be there in a second.” she said, getting up from the floor. Jenny nodded and left. Lena neck and face redden as she looked down at Darien who was covering the top of his mouth with the side of his hand. "I-I better get back out there.” she said, turning to leave, but he grabbed her arm.
She looked back down at him confused, "Wait, I...I really am sorry about yesterday.” he said. "I-I guess I was just...jealous.” he said, forcing the last word out. "But I couldn't help it! You just kissed him and I flipped!”
She couldn't help but think it was cute when he was jealous right now. She smiled and leaned down, pecking him, "If you'll be nice, I'll be nice.”
"I'll keep that in mind.” he said before letting her arm go. "Now go win now. Ash said you Russo's have a knack at winning everything.”
She playfully rolled her eyes, "Well, my family is a very competitive sporty family.” she said before finally walking away with him before here. They had to go a different way since Darien wasn't even supposed to be here, but he wrapped an arm around her and kissed her cheek before turning to leave.
All Lena knew was, she was going to have a great game now and win tonight
