Chapter 53: Friendship
Juvia's POV
~•12:45 P.M.•~
I was folding my arms and tapping on my heels in anger. I've been standing in front of the Movie Theater for 45 minutes now and he's still not here.
After our moment yesterday, I felt comfortable with him more than ever. The Gray-sama I loved was still here, I felt it again. But too bad, he doesn't love me anymore. 💔
When I got home, I told dad about it and he cried continuously that he said that I have to bring him to uncle Silver's grave on that same day. Uncle Silver is a really close friend to dad that they kept in contact, except for me. But, dad wasn't informed that uncle Silver had an illness and died. So, to make dad feel better, I brought him to the cemetery, even though it's already night time.
But why did he have to die?
He doesn't deserve it...
"Juvia!" I was cut off of my thoughts when Hibiki finally showed up, sweats are visible from his forehead. He ran?
"There was a traffic jam on the way here and if I wait for it any longer, I might've showed up here 1 hour and blah blah minutes late." He laughed slightly and wiped his sweat. "Sorry about that."
"It's okay, I just got here too." I lied. I didn't want him to worry about how I waited here on this same spot for 46 minutes. "So, let's go? Watch a movie?"
"Oh, before that, are you hungry? It's 12:46 already." He suddenly asked.
"Not really, but it looks like you are." I giggled slightly. "So, where do you want to eat?"
"Wow, you even noticed that. Yes, I'm definitely hungry right now and I'm craving for some cafe spaghetti and their chocolate drink." He licks his lip and smiled afterwards. "Damn, my mouth's getting watery. Okay, let's go! It's my treat and the cafe is just near here and we can walk it."
"Okay then, that's good." I said and gave him a thumbs-up.
I was about to take another step to walk but he suddenly held my hand and said, "We'll go this way, okay?"

I suddenly got uncomfortable... The cafe he brought me in... Is that same cafe where grandfather Gold told me to break up with Gray-sa— I mean, Gray. I missed calling him that...
"Are you okay, Juvia? Your face seems kind of pale, not because ypu have pale skin, okay?" He slightly snorted after finishing his question.
I glared at him and gave him a cold stare. "Stop. It."
"Anyway," He didn't get afraid of me. "I'll order now and what do you want? It's on me, okay?"
"Okay, I want 2 plates of spaghetti, 10 cookies and cream cookies, 5 red velvet cake slices, a vanilla shake, hmm... 4 strawberry cupcakes and 2 cups of black coffee." I smirked when I saw his face.
"S-Seriously? What are you, a glutton??"
"Nah, I'm just kidding." I laughed after seeing his reaction. I slightly hit him on his shoulder and said, "Don't take it serioisly. I'm okay with anything. I'll take the same thing as you."
"O-kay, you got me there, Juvia." He snorted and even rolled his eyes. He told me to sit anywhere, which I did, before ordering our food.
I decided to open my phone to check any notifications and messages.
...
5 messages from Levy.
4 messages from Erza.
20 messages from Lucy.
100+ messages from Mira-san.
What the?? Are they that concerned about today?? Oh, we also told Mira-san about it and she was mad and goes on with her Gruvia ship that has been long forgotten.
Anyway...
No way I'm going to answer of all these. It'll take hours for me to finish it all up.
But... Another message caught my eye.
1 message from Gray ♥
Okay, who put the heart?? Is it Mira-san??
I quickly edited his name before anyone can see it, especially Ultear and I might earn a suspension from work if she sees this, even if it's not my fault.

Hey Juvia, I heard that you and your dad visited my father yesterday, don't ask where I heard it. Anyway, is he alright? I'm feeling guilty for not telling him about dad's condition.

A really big smile was tugged on my lips and I tapped on my phone to reply. It's been awhile since we texted each other. I suddenly remembered the time when we stayed up all night chatting in facebook and in the morning, we both had eyebags and scared our friends.
Oh, I miss that.

Dad's fine but he was heartbroken about it. Don't worry, he's not mad at you. I'm sure of that.

I pressed send and exited my messages. I was about to press Wattpad and read books instead but then, I was stopped when another message from him popped up.

Date with Hibiki?
It's not a date but besides that, how did he know that I'm with Hibiki today?? I don't remember telling him about today.
"Hey Juvia, texting someone?" Hibiki appeared with our order on the tray he's holding. He distributes it to the two of us and sat across me.
"Yeah— No, I'm not." I closed my phone and put it back to my bag. "So, did you tell Mr. Gray about today?"
"Huh? What are you talking about?" He raised his eyebrow at me as he took a sip on his chocolate drink. "We're not that close to talk about those kind of things. Why are you asking?"
"Er, well... N-Nothing." He didn't tell him so how?
"Oh, now I get it." He smirked and even wiggled his eyebrows. "Your texting with Mr. Gray right now, aren't you?"
"No, I'm not." I said and looked away.
"You avoided my gaze, so that means I'm right." He said and smirked even wider. He put his elbow on the table and his palm on his chin. "Well, you are his Personal Assistant but I think it's something more than that, am I right?"
I cleared my throat and stood up, "If you'll excuse me, I'll go to the bathroom for a minute."
I walked towards the bathroom at a fast pace, trying to avoid Hibiki as possible and so, I ended up bumping my head into a guy who's wearing all black clothes, black glasses and even a black mask, also a black hat.
"S-Sorry." I immediately apologized.
He just nodded as his response and quickly gets out of the cafe. What's with that guy just now?
***
And so, after eating, we immediately walked back to the movie theater and watched a romantic comedy movie. I felt so embarrassed because Hibiki had the loudest laugh inside and I just smiled at those people who were looking at him weirdly.
I wanted to pretend that I don't know him.
But I didn't want to be that mean.
After the movie, we just played at the nearest arcade. We even battled each other at air hockey for hours and kids got tired waiting for us to finish up. But what can I say? Air hockey is a really good game here.
At 7:30 P.M, we ate at a fast food place and he challenged me to a fries eating contest, like that even exists. But I accepted his challenge and I ended up winning against him and he has to buy me cookies and cream drink at work for a week.
And here we are now, at a small park and we're looking at the shiny moon above, the twinkling stars and the warm and cold lake in front of us. We're just sitting at a bench under the tree and we just wanted to relax ourselves here.
"Today was fun, Juvia. Thanks for coming with me today." He said with a wide smile.
"I felt the same too, Hibiki. I'm glad I came with you." I replied back.
"You know, you really remind me of my ex-girlfriend... Oh, can I tell you about this?" He asked permission and I simply nodded at him. "Well, I had a girlfriend back at college. Her name is Karen. She's a beautiful and elegant lady. Man, I'm glad that I fell in love with someone like her. I thought that she's the one... The one who'll be by my side forever but... But... She suddenly broke up with me." He frowned.
"What?? Why??" I asked.
"She suddenly said that she's in love with someone else now." He explained. "But I didn't buy it... So I... I tried to get back with her. I came to her house everyday just to see her but I gave up when she suddenly said that she hates me. And that's when I knew, I'm really a jerk and an idiot."
Why does his story sound so familiar?
"She said that I did something that I shouldn't have but I couldn't remember what it is."
What the heck?
This is creeping me out.
We have the same story line.
"And you remind me of her very much because of the way you diss at me or smile." He said and I smiled.
"Wow... We both have the same story... Except, I'm not like you. I'm like your ex-girlfriend." I said.
"Really?" He gaped. "W-Why would you break up with him? And who is he?"
Is it okay for me to tell him about my past?
But he did tell me his...
And I allowed him to tell me about it.
"I won't tell anyone about this, I promise. A man never goes back on his word." He pledged and crossed his heart.
I smiled at him. I can trust him.
"... He's... A really, really great guy. The best guy I've ever met in my entire life." I smiled warmly. "We first started off as a fake couple and I only agreed because he has my bracelet," I showed him the bracelet on my hand. "And this is not an ordinary bracelet, it's a precious bracelet for me because it was my mom's."
"What? He's a jerk." He commented. "How can he do that to a girl like you? Childish."
I giggled. "Right, right. But he had a reason. He wanted to make my best friend jealous of him, which is his ex-girlfriend. And that's when it all started. He comforted me through all the times, made my heart flutter which I thought would never happen to me again because of my other ex... He... He mended my broken heart and I fell for him. I was surprised when he confessed to me that he loves me, on my birthday. And that's, when our love story began."
"Hm. Seems like a not too typical love story." He smiled warmly. "Tell me more."
"Things were going very well between the two of us. I thought that he's the one too and I ended up having fantasies with him about having a family in the future." I blushed a little. "D-Don't get me wrong here... Anyway, that all ended until his grandfather showed up."
"Grandfather? Pfft." He laughed. "What's an old man got to do at your story?"
"Are you going to listen or what?"
"I will."
"He told me to break up with him." I frowned even more. "Because he thinks that I'm not fitted with him and I might even use him in the future. I only agreed to break up with him because... I never told the readers about it but it's a very cliche line."
"He told me that he'll make him suffer everyday at work, giving him endless paper works." I said.
"What the actual f—" I stopped him.
"O-kay, don't curse here." I said. "Moving on, I broke up with him on the day of our graduation day... And also the day when he proposed to me."
He furrowed his eyebrows and I just continued on telling my story. "And we never saw each other again. Except, I saw him again after 7 years and became friends and it's still on-going. The end."
"That grandfather is the real jackass here. Why would he even make his grandson work tirelessly everyday? He should be in jail." He commented. "If I were you, I will tell my ex about it."
"But, it doesn't change the fact I lied to him for all these years and even used a fake excuse such as, I hate you." I said. "And, even if I did tell him, it's not like we'll get back with each other... He can't because he has a fiance now and I'm just a personal assistant to him."
His eyes widened. "Y-You mean...?"
I looked at him. "Yes, my ex-boyfriend is Gray Fullbuster, our boss."

Tell me something honestly, guys. Did this story become boring? Or not worth reading anymore?
I just wanted to prolong this because I wanted to give emphasis on the fact that Gray had a fiance. Please tell me honestly guys. (T-T)
