Chapter 52: 💔

Juvia's POV

"Aw, Hana-chan." I carried this blue little girl who just hugged me out of nowhere. I poked her nose and said, "I'm not your mommy, okay? We were just playing at that time."

"Ha? She's not your daughter?" Gray asked while pointing at Hana-chan.

"No." I said. "She's Levy and Gajeel's daughter."

"Juvia!" Levy appeared running with Ace in her arms. She was still wearing the same thing what she wore earlier. "Oh my, I didn't mean to interrupt your date with Gray. It's just that, Hana suddenly ran fast when she saw you."

"This girl really loves me." I kissed Hana-chan's nose and said, "Oh, I'm not on a date with Gray. We're doing office business."

"Y-Yeah." was all Gray could say.

"Office business?" Levy gasped. "How? Wha—?"

"I already told you about this, Levy." I said. I had time telling it to them but I think Lucy already told them about it before I could.

"Oh... Right."

"Hey Gray, sorry about this." Levy said and pats Gray on his back. She turned to me and signalled me to give Hana-chan to her.

Hana-chan immediately obeyed and she got off of me and held Levy's hand. "Mama, it's mommy Juvia!"

"I'm not your mommy. (T...T)" I answered.

"Yes, sweetie. I can see that and she's your aunt, okay?" Levy giggled. "She's really fond of calling you that now."

"Yeah, sorry." I snorted. "So, I thought you're going with Erza today? What happened? Change of plans or what?"

"Oh, we decided to do that later and since I'm free today, I decided to take the twins out. Though, the older brother's asleep." She eyed the little boy sleeping on her arm.

"That's great!" I cheered.

"Well, we better get going now. Nice seeing you again, Gray! Good luck, Juvia!" She said and waved at us as she walks away.

"Bye mommy!" Hana-chan waved as she looked at us from behind. "I hope your date will go great!"

I sweat dropped. Aish, we're not on a date.I cleared my throat as soon as they got out from my view and turned to Gray. "Uh, hey. Sorry about that."

"So, you don't have a daughter?" He confusingly asked.

I furrowed my eyebrows and shook my head. "Nope. What makes you think that I'd have a daughter without even having a husband?"

"N-Nothing."

And here we are now, driving to who-knows-where. I wonder if it's okay for him to get out of his office just like this. I wonder if it's a meeting... Or maybe he's going to make me plan for his and Ultear's date— Aish, shut up. I'd never to that. Never, ever.

We didn't talk to each other, except that one time when I asked if I can open his radio and he allowed me to. When I opened it, it was all full of break up songs and I immediately turned it off without saying another word to him.

Break up songs these days are famous.

35 minutes or so, has passed since we left. I saw where we were entering: A cemetery or a graveyard. I suddenly had the creeps.

"Umm... Gray, what are we doing here?" I asked, finally talking to him again as I looked around outside by the window. Tombstones...

"You'll see." He said.

I frowned and bit my lip. Are we going to attend a funeral? Did someone die? Is he going to visit someone here? But, if so, why does he need me to come here with him? He could've done it by himself or with his fiance, Ultear.

I gulped when he parked his car on the side and he came out of the car, so I did too. I took a quick look around this place and it doesn't seem to have any funerals on-going so I'm pretty that he's just going to visit someone here.

Yeah.

But why do I have a bad feeling about this?

Gray got out of his car with his car keys on his hands. He signalled me to follow him so I did. As much as possible, I tried to stay close to him because I'm a little afraid of this place.

I just hate horror.

While I was busy looking around, I didn't notice that he already stopoed in front of a tombstone so I bumped into his back and I flinched.

"Ow..." I reacted and looked at Gray. "You could've said that—"

"Juvia, look." He moved his eyes to the tombstone in front of us. I looked at the name of the person in the tombstone.

.

.

.

My heart almost stopped.

Here lies Silver Fullbuster, a loving father and a good friend. May you rest in peace.

I shivered as I put both of my hands in my lips. No, this isn't happening... "U-Uncle Silver is...? N-No... This c-can't be..."

"We haven't seen each other for 7 years so it wasn't a surprise." He started. "He had a rare disease a month ago and he just died 2 weeks ago, before we saw each other again. A day before he died, he said that he wanted to see you again and your father. I thought it was kinda impossible but now, I'm glad that I made his wish come true."

My legs slowly gave up as I slowly sat on the green grass and in front of Uncle Silver's grave. My tears finally escaped through my eyes. I whimpered silently.

I felt guilty and sad because I really haven't seen him for years and now...

"Oh! What a nice name! My name is Silver Fullbuster, Gray's dad."

"Shall we... Discuss about your marriage?"

He begins to laugh and said "HAHAHAHA!! I heard fron Rave that you are gonna shop so I thought OH MY! I WANNA SEE THEM DATE! or so from those lines"

"HAHAHAHAHA! You two look really cute together!" He squealed and said, "Atleast, Gray has moved on from Lucy" he sighed.

"So Juvia..." He paused then took a deep breath. "Please don't break Gray's heart. I don't want to see his depressed face everyday. Haven't I told you? Gray's happy everyday at home ever since he introduced you to me. I like that smile. Its like when he was dating Lucy-chan. So please.. Don't take his happiness away."

"I leave Gray to you."

"No... U-Uncle Silver... can't be dead..." I murmured as I tried to not accept the truth. The truth that I broke my promise with uncle Silver. The truth that he's dead and Gray's all alone.

I touched the tombstone and traced uncle Silver's name using my fingers. Tears continued on getting out of my eyes. "I'm sorry, uncle Silver... I'm sorry... I broke our promise... I should've said sorry to you years ago but..." I murmured silently so Gray couldn't hear it but only uncle Silver can.

Why did he have to die?

He was a good man and a good father to Gray. He was one of dad's best friends. He was one of the kindest man in the whole universe.

So why?

I sobbed and wiped my tears using my hands. I felt someone touching my shoulder and squeeze it a little. "... Juvia, you don't have to cry."

I looked up to see Gray's frown. He must've been hurt again... And I doubled it up at the reunion. I didn't know... I didn't know that this happened before our reunion... I'm truly the worst person ever to live.

"B-But... I couldn't... help it..." I sobbed again and wiped my tears. They wouldn't stop... "I-I'm sorry, G-Gray... If I'm being a bother to you right now but... T-This would go away after a few minutes so—"

He didn't let me finish my sentence and instead, he suddenly kneeled down and pulled me into his chest, his arms draping behind me. "... I know that you didn't want me to do this but as a friend, I want to comfort you... Even if it's only for today, I'll be a clingy friend to you so please... Don't cry. I hate it when I see you crying."

Gray-sama...

Oh, how I missed calling you that.

I gripped on his suit and I cried on his shoulders. He just continued on caressing my head and back and didn't say anything else.

He was there for me again.

But I wasn't there for him for all these past few years.

I'm really a bad person... 💔

"I'm sorry, Gray... I'm sorry..." I muttered as I continued to cry on his shoulder. He shifted a little, meaning that he was surprised at what I'm saying.

"Why are you apologizing?"

It's for everything I've done, Gray. It hurts me to know that you're going to get married with someone else. It hurts me that I couldn't be by your side anymore because Ultear already has that right. You have a fiance... Yet, I still love you. ♥
