Tech's Badge
As I said in chapter 3.a of HPV3PP, Tech worked with the Royal Family of Hyrule, protecting Princess Zelda. He mainly Zelda out on errands or praying sessions. Like Link and the other Champions, he had to deal with Zelda nearly giving herself hyperthermia,
wearing herself out from standing for 8 or so hours straight and ultimately collapsing from exhaustion, or constantly blaming herself for her failures...and we all know who caused this. *ahem* King Rhoam! Her own father!

King Rhoam in BTB treats Zelda like a puppet instead of a daughter. He may physically hurt her and this worried the Champions (yes, even Revali!), Tech and Link a lot. Worried that one day the King would do something to his own DAUGHTER that she might not fully recover from.

Even though Tech worked in Hyrule, protecting the Princess (who hired him), he is not a citizen of Hyrule, therefore, he does not bow down to King Rhoam, and can speak freely to him as if he was another simple person, and the King cannot do anything about it :)
Perhaps, Tech might stand up for Zelda? Maybe? Guess you'll have to wait and see in BTB.
