100 chaptersssss!
As you pull the door shut behind you, you can hear a large clock ringing out the time. Strange, considering you're not even sure if there's a clock like that near you. You dig the little invitation card that was shoved unceremoniously under your door very shortly before this. The inside, covered with stencils of maple leafs, still smells faintly of autumn and maple syrup. The class of it seems incongruous with the informality of the writing, especially the part demanding that you cosplay as a Canadian character. You continue to stare at it as you get on the bus to the appointed adress.
Over a block away, you can already tell something is a little...different. The sidewalk is blanketed in both snow and colourful leaves, sometimes alternating, sometimes one piled on top of another. Red and white paint is splattered playfully across any other concrete surface. Every tree and bush has at least one sort of Canadian decoration, whether it be a flag or little red wires with shiny red leaves. As you get off the bus, the driver wishes you a nice day with a genuine smile. Eyebrows knitted together, you step off... And are taken aback by the pure strength of the smell of maple syrup lacing the air.
You continue walking up to the house--rather, a mansion, really; you can see it from here--savouring the smell. Lights are flashing from in the yard, strobing and pulsing, and you can already hear people laughing and talking.
As you near the entrance, you smooth down your costume. It had been short-notice, but it looks great! Suddenly, a force slams into you in a flash of red, white, and brown, nearly knocking you off your feet.
"YOU MADE IT!"
Looking down, you see the host herself. Dressed in a red and white palette switch of Ramona Flowers' outfit, she looks all too ready to be strange. "We've got an interesting party in store tonight!" She takes your arm as if she were a Victorian gentleman and walks you through the yard, which has a few people occupying it., and into the building.
If you thought the smell of maple syrup was strong outside, you were wrong. So very, very wrong. It's so heavy that you can nearly taste it on your tongue. You must have made some sort of face, because Geeky smiles at you and laughs. "I suppose I should explain what's with all this!" She winks and does a pose reminiscentl of a certain snowy-haired mage. "I was thinking of how much I want you guys up here in the Great White North, so I decided to throw a Canadian themed party! Over there, we have a maple syrup fountain! And over there is one with Crush Cream Soda! We've got Canadian treats everywhere too. Poutine, Beaver Tails--not real ones, silly!--ketchup chips, Montreal bagels, Swiss Chalet sauce, Caramilk, Kraft Dinner, you name it! Oh, and of course, all milk is in a bag!" She pauses to laugh. "Too much? Maybe, but I loooove Canada, and I love you! So let's go and have fun!
