This happens to me sometimes. Mainly when I read fanfics and whenever a character I like gets hated on, even if they are a genuinely bad person in the fanfic. It happens when I start imagining a whole tragic backstory for why they are like that and how they became the antagonist. This escalates even more if a character says they were a much better person in their past.

Does anyone else do this? Please tell me so I won't feel so awkward...
