Ok, this is a disaster for millions of people using the Internet. Creators, readers, writers, YouTubers. The only people this law is going to benefit are the large music and film companies.

There's no way that I can try and explain this issue without making it more complicated than it already is, so the above video explains why Article 13 is not only dangerous for an enormous amount of people, but how it could affect a lot more people than you think.

There is a campaign started on Wattpad called Article 13 #protectyourcommunity. It talks about Wattpad's views on Article 13 and what it will mean for fanfiction. It also has links to petitions against it.

I don't normally write about serious issues like this, but this threatens creativity and the jobs of hundreds of thousands of people who make a living online. Spread the word in your random books, on your message board, sign petitions if you can. This is really bad for the future of the Internet, and we need to act now before the law officially passes in early 2019.
