Appearance:
Bilbolo is 3'4'' tall, with a lean and lithe build, narrow shoulders, smooth skin and fine features. However, he is not quite as handsome as he thinks he is. His hair and beard are darkest brown, with the former receding from his brows in a widow's peak, and the latter styled into a flamboyant goatee and mustachios. He has large, light hazel eyes, and his ears are pointed, as is typical of his kind.

Bilbolo is not muscular by any means, but he is agile, quick as a water snake and graceful as an elf. He has short legs and large feet, but is a very fast runner for a halfling, and can outrun many humans despite being half their size. His skin, while smooth and bearing a bronze tan, is fair in its natural complexion, and his hands are not as calloused as one might expect an adventurer and outlaw's mitts to be - a sign of his actual heritage.

Bilbolo takes care of his appearance, and wears garb of silk and velvet, often dyed pale green or light blue. Over this he wears leather to act as a form of armour. He tucks his trousers into high, wide-topped leather boots, and a wide-brimmed hat with a bright yellow feathered plume adorns his head - his hat is Bilbolo's pride and joy, and others touch it at their own peril. The halfling carries his rapier, Destiny, in a scabbard at his side, and his belt also bears a stiletto dagger and several throwing knives.

Personality:
Dashing, outgoing and charismatic, Bilbolo is an eccentric thrill-seeker to the core, always looking out for the next grand adventure to go on for no other reason that just pure fun. He has a love of the traveller's life, and is the gregarious sort, always looking to meet new people and learn more about them, and to see the wide world with all its beauty and its horrors. He is also brave to the point of recklessness, charging into the fray and, like any good hero - overestimating his chances and carrying the day through sheer confidence and bravado!

Lighthearted and jovial, Bilbolo is optimistic and knows how to take the good with the bad - to him, that is far preferable to a safe life where nothing noteworthy happens at all. He takes very little seriously, by his own admission no less, and only truly feels alive when fighting, partying and travelling the world, laughing all the way as he takes in every experience, even the near-death ones. Smart and witty, Bilbolo is good at thinking on his feet, but is less savvy when it comes to long-term plans and consequences. He is also an extremely passionate individual with a restless streak, always looking to make the most of every day and live it like it's his last!

However, while Bilbolo tends to be courteous and gallant, he looks down on those who choose to live a simple life, even his own family, as he doesn't understand how they can drag themselves out of bed every day when their lives are, in his eyes, not worth living. His outlandish behaviour and lacking consideration for the outcomes of his actions also often result in him getting in way over his head, though he takes this all in his stride. Lastly, his love of a good challenge means that he is a compulsive gambler who tends to push his luck, often at the most inappropriate of times...

Backstory:
Born into the family of rich halfling landowners, Bilbolo had a comfortable upbringing and even more comfortable adult life. While his clan were not nobility, they possessed vast swathes of rich farmland that they had accumulated through generations of business dealings, and could afford to employ plenty of others to work for them, harvesting the crops and tilling the fields on the Espada family's behalf. This left the family to relax in the sun, collect memorabilia and spend time either with each other or visiting distant relatives from other nearby communities.

Life was peaceful, life was plentiful... and life was soooooo boring!

As a young man, Bilbolo had always been curious about the outside world, and spent his free time growing up collecting maps of far-off lands, books on the wonders of the realms and stories on the exploits of great heroes - the more outlandish, the better. All of this only made his curiosity grow, unusual for halflings, a race who are typically homebodies, and as he grew more and more into his adult life, every day at home seeming literally the same caused Bilbolo to feel sick of the mundanity of his existence.

He dreamed of thrills and adventure... and then one day, he simply stopped dreaming and started planning for it.

Bilbolo soon turned from collecting maps and books to collecting treatises on swordplay and hiring instructors to educate him the art of fencing, which fit his kind's natural agility and finesse. He also educated himself in survival skills, athletics and all the other things an adventurer might need. And then, after making his intentions clear to his family, he set off into the world beyond their home, his sword at his side and his favourite hat on his head.

But he didn't leave in search of wealth, or power, or fame... Bilbolo adventures for adventure's sake! For the pure and simple fun of a life well-lived!

Strengths and Weaknesses:
Bilbolo is a fast, dextrous and agile combatant who fights on the front lines, dodging and parrying attacks while dishing out damage head-on, his movements faster than a falling star as he cuts his enemies down. A proficient and dangerous swordsman, Bilbolo specializes in light, finesse-based weapons like rapiers - after all, why put all your energy into one massive swing when a small, yet lethal, cut to the throat does the trick?

Outside of his speed and agility, Bilbolo's other greatest combat asset is his sheer, bloody-minded audacity! Confident to the point of arrogance, Bilbolo's 'hit first, ask questions later' attitude combined with his lightning-fast reactions means he almost always takes the initiative and gets to strike first if he wants to. Also, Bilbolo will take advantage of his small size to weave through opponents, or outright run between their legs, to strike from unexpected angles or attack specific targets in a group. Most would consider this near-suicidal, two which Bilbolo would respond "What's the matter, my friend? Never taken a shortcut before?!"

However, Bilbolo is not as invulnerable as he think he is. For one, his small size and lacking musculature mean he has the upper body strength of a small child, and as such is very vulnerable to effects and attacks that require strength to avoid. It also means that he is utterly useless at fighting with any weapon that requires brute force, like a battleaxe, a mace or even his fists. Lastly, Bilbolo's supreme self-confidence mean he can be rather oblivious, and this lacking wisdom also mean that he can fall for illusions and charms, believing them to be reality.
