It's been a year since the released of Avengers: Endgame movie but the ending of Steve was divided into different reactions. Some were finally accepted that Steve got his happy ending with Peggy Carter but the others were bit of skeptical about this.

However, one fan shows an opinion of which Peggy Carter is NOT the right woman for Steve that the Steggy(Steve x Peggy) ship is nothing more than the same level of Arrowverse's Olicity & WestAllen toxic ship.

So this One-Shot takes place on that time Steve sends back in time to return the Infinity Stones to original timelines.

Summary: On the day to return the Infinity Stones to the original timelines, Steve plans to stay in the Past and be together with his lost love, Peggy Carter. However, someone appears to him and gives him a Reality Check.

On the day set to return the Infinity Stones to the original timelines, Steve plans to stay in the Past in order to be together with his lost love, Peggy Carter so he can create his own family and his legacy.

After he suit up the Quantum suit, he was ready to meet Prof. Hulk, Sam & Bucky waiting on the park where the Quantum machine but before he goes, someone speaks behind.

???: I won't do that if I were you.

Steve turns around behind and meets....himself but an OLD man sitting on the bench.

Steve: *shock tone* You...you're me?
Old Steve: *sad smile* Yes. I am you but I'm older.
Steve: What are you doing here?
Old Steve: I'm here to give you a sense of reality about staying in the Past.
Steve: I decide to stay here, be with Peggy and had my family on my own. That's all.

Old Steve sighs in defeat.

Old Steve: You're wrong.
Steve: *confuse tone* What?
Old Steve: You were wrong. I was wrong. Staying in the Past and be with Peggy together created a new timeline where you & your family had peace but has consequences.
Steve: *shocks* What consequences about staying in the Past?

Old Steve sighs again Steve and looks at the skies before revealing his words that will shock Steve's life.

Old Steve: After I married Peggy, we had two children named Anthony & Sarah Rogers.
Steve: You were named after Tony & my Mom?
Old Steve: *nods* Yes. When they grow up, they managed to prevent future threats such as Howard & Maria Stark's assassination from Bucky who is the Winter Soldier. But because of this, Tony Stark DID NOT become Iron Man in the future.

Steve looks at his old self and was shocked.

Steve: What???
Old Man: Tony did not become Iron Man because he wasn't kidnapped by the terrorists and remain an engaged playboy and weapons manufacturer, continue to build more arsenal weapons instead of Iron Man, Bruce & Hulk were remain the fugitive by General Ross, Thor remain in Asgard but still arrogant & Clint is still working to SHIELD and has his own family but he never met Natasha...
Steve:...Nat? What happened to her?
Old Steve: *sigh* Natasha is still a Black Widow but never joins SHIELD. She is an agent of HYDRA.

Steve began to pale when he heard Natasha became a HYDRA agent instead of SHIELD agent.

Steve: No. It can't be. And Bucky still a Winter Soldier?
Old Steve: Yes. He & Natasha became partners of crime and became #1 Most Wanted Criminals around the world.
Steve: What about the Avengers?
Old Steve: Nick Fury did not have the Avengers Initiative. Because of my consequences, the Avengers are NO LONGER EXIST in my time.

Those words broke Steve's heart. The Avengers, who he considered as family are never exist.

Steve: Why? Why they never exist?
Old Steve: It was all my fault. I shouldn't stay in the Past. I abandoned my family, the Avengers. They are my only family I've got. I failed them, I failed Tony and I failed Natasha.
Steve: What about Peggy?
Old Steve: *sad tone* Although I love Peggy so much, my mind still showing about Natasha and has a nightmare about her death in Vormir that cannot take off my mind. I don't want to tell Peggy about this until I realized my mistake that Peggy wasn't my love of my life. It was Natasha but it was too late.

Steve was felt sad & broken after his old self reveals a horrifying truth about staying the Past.

Steve: Is there's a chance to return back to the time I left?
Old Steve: There's still a second chance for you but for me, I accept my consequences about staying in the Past. You can still bring Natasha back when you return to Soul Stone to Vormir. She is your love of your life.

Steve remembered Natasha. Their moments toegther including her flirting & jokes to him, their first kiss while on the run from HYDRA agents & her hug after Peggy's funeral before the Civil War fiasco.

Steve: You were right. I do love Natasha.
Old Steve: *smile* Then, go. Don't share my mistakes ever again.
Steve: *smile* I will.

Steve walks away from Old Steve and heads to the place while Old Steve smiles and looks at the sky.

~Timeskip - You know what happens~
While Prof. Hulk were typing the computer, Sam & Bucky were skeptical that whether Steve stays in the Past when a bright light appears from the Quantum machine and subsided, revealing Steve with now repaired Star Shield and a much-alived Natasha. The three looked surprise but smile that Steve returns, along with Natasha.

Prof. Hulk: But how, Steve? I tried to bring back Natasha when I snapped the gauntlet and everyone returns.
Steve: I made a trade the Soul Stone to the Guardian(Red Skull) in Vormir to bring her back and it did works.
Bucky: I'm so proud of you.
Sam: I thought you gonna stay in the Past.

Natasha looked at Steve.

Natasha: Is that true?
Steve: I was but I kept thinking about you even after your death. I'm so sorry.
Natasha: *smiles* No, Steve. You did a great job to bring me back.
Steve: Yeah. I miss you. Everyone miss you.

Both Steve & Natasha gave a hug each other. While hugging, Steve saw Old Steve watching afar to them unnotice as his old self nods and smile before he vanishes. After they broke the hug, Steve gives his Star Shield to Sam and he accepted it.

After a reunion, Steve & Natasha went to Clint's farm as Clint, Laura, their children and Wanda saw her and give her a emotional hug. She hugs them back.

Clint: *To Steve* Thank you, Steve. You made our family whole again.
Steve: *smiles* You're welcome. I did this for you.
Clint: Tony will be proud somewhere.
Steve: Of course he is.

A few days later, Steve & Natasha went to cabin and reunites with Pepper & Morgan before they giving a respects to Tony.

After this, Steve and Natasha stays on their new home while they were dancing each other as the music "The Way you Look Tonight" by Bing Crosby was played. As the music come to an end, the two looked each other and smiles.

Steve: *smiles* I love you, Natasha.
Natasha: *smiles* I love you too, Steve.

The two shares the kiss as the screen goes black.

*Cue End Credits with "Fight as One" song*

*End of End Credits scene*

A 7 year old boy with bright fiery red hair & baby bluegreen eyes in lightblue PJs was on the bed and he smiled after his father told a story.

Boy: And then what happened, Daddy?
Steve: *smiles* And that's how the Avengers saved the world and the universe once again. Oh! Look at the time! It's bedtime, James.

Steve lays his son, James to his bed and carefully tucked the cover sheets to him and kissed his forehead.

James: Goodnight, Daddy.
Steve: Goodnight, James.

James was finally asleep as Steve carefully went out from the bedroom just in time Natasha came.

Natasha: How's James?
Steve: He's asleep now, Nat.
Natasha: *smiles* I hope one day, he will become the next Captain America just like you.
Steve: *smiles* Of course. He will.

Steve & Natasha kissed again as they went to their room for the rest of the night.

And that's the TRUE ending of Endgame.

Steve stay in the Past and be together with Peggy and abandoned the Avengers reminds me of Barry Allen/The Flash created Flashpoint in Season 3 of CW's The Flash and became a selfish jackass, wimp stalker when he & Iris are together while he treated Caitlin, Cisco & Joe like they were never exists! D#ck move, Barry.

Until now, he still never learns the lesson after he married Iris and became one of the most hated couples in TV series due of Barry being a wimp dog to Iris' hyprotical and bossy character. Even their future daughter Nora/XS was also hated because it was revealed that she was working with Barry's nemesis, Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash due of Future Iris being lied to her about Barry is The Flash.

Both Steggy & WestAllen were the same level of toxic relationship.

That's why I ship Romanogers & SnowBarry more because they have more chemistry, troubled pasts & struggles and rekindling relationships than Steggy & WestAllen ship. 'Nuff said.
