His mother died giving birth to him, so he has no memory of her. He only has pictures. He was born deaf because his mother contracted rubella, or German Measles, and it affected him in the womb.

So from the time he was a newborn, he was cared for by his father. He lived with him up until the age of six, then he lived at the orphanage most of the time because his father thought it was too dangerous for them to live together, just in case he was caught. He wasn't a very good person. Fuji understood, and he wasn't mad at his father. He was glad that the orphanage owner didn't care enough to make sure they were all at the orphanage, so he was still able to see his father whenever he wanted to.

He met Kawaii Shimura in the orphanage, and the two of them became pretty good friends. Then Kawaii got adopted, and a new girl was sent to the orphanage, a girl by the name of Natsumi Aishi. He befriended her, and he taught her sign language so that they could better communicate, since he couldn't always lip read as well as he could later in his life. Sadly, Natsumi was moved to a different orphanage at some point, but not until she had learned all of sign language and become pretty good friends with Fuji.

Fuji was often picked on because he was deaf, and because his quirk was weird. When it wasn't that, it was because of his girly appearance, or his fair and pale skin. However, he never let any of it bother him. He'd always tell them that he was secure, and they didn't have to try to make him feel otherwise just because they were insecure.

From a young age his father made sure he was grounded in his beliefs, knowing what made a true hero, knowing what made a villain. He was shocked when he realized how many heroes weren't true heroes. But he one day learned that if you look for the bad, then that's what you'd find. If you look for the good, then you'll find the good.

     Fuji is a very patient and friendly person. However, he got into a fight once. This one kid in particular had been picking on him, teasing him, and bullying him all day long to try and get a reaction from him. The person then started badmouthing his mom and saying very dirty and inappropriate things about her. So, Fuji punched him in the nose, giving him a bloody nose. He even used his quirk on the other kid so he couldn't move. However, the fight was broken up by one of the adults there, and Fuji was punished, but the other kid got away with no punishment whatsoever.

     When Fuji was fifteen, his father was arrested— he was arrested the spring before the summer of the hero training camp later on in that summer. His father was arrested and is to be in prison for life because of all the people he's killed. However, he still loves his dad very much, because he really was the best dad he could ask for. Very supportive, and let him be a kid for as long as he could be a kid. Always made time for him and kept him safe, as well as taught him how to use his quirk.

Since he has no mother and his father is in prison, he was adopted by a family, whom he really likes. They were actually personal friends with his own parents back in their high school years.
