POSEEIIIDOOOOOONNNN-
Hi guys!
So my school recently put on the performance play Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, and it was such an amazing musical!!! Every show was really good!
It was my fourth show with my school. However, this was very stressful. One of the most stressful I think we've ever done. Usually I am the light board operator for the shows, meaning I operate the lights for every show.
However, it was tech week (the week before and/or of the show) and we had no light cues recorded. We had just gotten rented lights the week before the show installed, and idk if anyone knows, but making light cues takes a really long time. We have to make sure we can see our actors from every point of the audiance.
It was the day before the opening night (first show) and we only had 1/3rd of the show lit properly. My stage manager was really stressed because he was the stage manager for the first time alone, and the only one. Recently we've had 2 stage managers to help out.
Another girl that was gonna help with lights (really love her, she's a freshman) she's silly, and it was also her first show. There was one person operating sound and mics, which can be hard if it's your first show, and it was their first show. So here I was, the most experienced person in the booth.
Ngl I felt like an upperclassman even though the person on sound was my friend in my class💪
Anyway, in the end, I ended up doing mics instead of the lights, and the freshman operated both the rental lights and our lights. They're two different systems. I'm kinda sad I wasn't able to do it, but I understand why I was put on sound: because the person on sound was stressed, having so many things to do, and it was easier to teach the freshman the lights than it was sound in the moment. I was the most experienced so I was just transferred over. I was glad to help anyway :)
I have videos of the play but I can't put videos in here :(
Aaand I have practically no photos-
Anyway, the show is over, and I'm so glad that we did so well. I loved Percy Jackson, it's my favorite musical so far. Now I get to focus on school. I have finals coming up that I'm not excited for >:(
Ugh...
Idk what I'm gonna do on here. I'm going to take a few days to rest from the show, so Cover Me will still be on pause for a little while longer.
My 16th birthday is this Thursday, I'm so excited bro. So I'll be busy the end of this week, but if I get bored I might publish.
Idk maybe I'll take it off pause, who knows, not me, I don't run this account ¯\(◉‿◉)/¯
Hehe 🤸🏻
Please make sure to follow my third account, Tothe_moon_and_Back_ because I'm working on an absolutely amazing original book <3
