Chapter 3: Flatline
I blinked a few times. I sat up straight, unable to block out the constant beep of the machine next to me. Sitting in hospital was not fun. I played with the saltless food on my plate before drinking some flavoured water. "Damn," I though aloud. "They must've hit me hard," I said. And with that came an excrutiating pain in my left arm.
"Hi I'm doctor Wilson. Last night one of your friends said you got in a fight and this happened," he said after drawing back the curtain that seperated the wards. "You sustained a mild concussion and a broken arm. The bruises are less problematic and will fade with time."
What? They hurt me that bad? It was just a bunch of girls... And since when was it a fight? I remember very well that I was attacked. I swear I'm going to flatline.
"Thanks doc," I said. "Where's my mom?" I asked.
"She's here." said Dr. Wilson.
"Hey mom," I said, barely moving. "Hi honey," she said, edging towards me. Look what they did to you! Who did this?" She said. "I can't remember," I lied.

I stammered to Karla's bedroom. "Hey sis," I said. "Hey Kimmy," she replied. "Oh my word! You still call me Kimmy?!" I laughed. "You do know that you're the only one who calls me Kimmy right?"
Kimmy...
"Yeah, I know. No one else can use that nickname or they'll pay! Right Kimmy?"
Kimmy...
And then it hit me.
"So, um, I'm going to go lie gown okay? See you later, Karlagator!" I said, but I was acting. I don't want to see her. I grabbed my phone as I sat on my bed and flipped down to the text I got before I was hit.
"Oh my soul. Kimberly Knight was spotted kissing school head jock Chad after beating up his girlfriend. She's a tramp and no one knows why she's here. Why would you do such a thing Kimmy? Why? Get away from her. She's poisonous. She cheats in tests and pays the popular group to like her. She's a liar."
My own sister...
