Chapter 2: Oh No...
Jake drove me home after I'd waited for hours. Karla was nowhere to be seen. She didnt pick up the phone, she didn't even pitch to photography class. I was getting worried when mom finally called asking me where I was. "What? Jake and I have been waiting for hours because we had no clue where Karla was!" I said, super confused. "She told me to leave you at school because you were busy," she said, sounding just as confused as me.
When Jake pulled up in my driveway, he asked me if I'd be fine. "Of course, Jake. Maybe she was just moody and we pressed her buttons at lunch," I answered lamely. "Don't worry," I said. "I'm sure she's fine. We just need to talk okay? I'll text you what happens when I get inside," and I got out the car, blowing a kiss before closing the door.
Throwing myself on my bed, I played with my 'infinity' bracelet. Why wasn't Karla with Charlotte today? And why would she say that I was busy and leave without me? Something stinks, and it's not just the burning lasagne. "Mom!! Mom!!" I yelled, running to the oven. "Mom, is it legal for you to be cooking? You'll burn us all!" I joked. She yanked the smoking lasagne out of the oven and frantically beating at the steadily increasing smoke. Now what were we going to eat for dinner?

I knocked, then knocked again. Silence. I knocked a third time then decided to open the door. Karla was sitting on her bed with earphones on, reading a magazine. When she saw me standing at the door, she smiled weakly and moved over and patted the space on her bed, telling me to sit. I accepted the offer and broke the silence.
"What's up sis? You looked upset today and you lied to mom about..." and she cut me off. "Yeah I know, I'm sorry Kimmy. I just got jealous. I mean, the only reason why people know my name is because I'm Kimberly Knight's identical twin," she said. Kimmy. Funny how no one else called me that but I still hated that nickname. And then I saw it, the tear fall from her eye.
"I had no idea what the deal was. Maybe you should party with me more. I mean, you're really quiet and I'm afraid I'm the only person who sees the supernova in you. You like a diamond in the ground. So perfect but you hide away. Come, lets go out to a party. Mom has successfully burnt the lasagne so we might as wel eat somewhere else?"
She smiled and hugged me so hard, my heart was in my throat. She changed out of her stuff and I decided to lend her some make up. She dressed up in high waisted jeans and wore a black spaghetti top with suspenders. She wore heels and straightened her hair. "Look who's smoking," I smirked as I watched my twin sister look so radiant. "Thanks sis. You don't look too bad in that dress and leather jacket either," she smiled.
We kissed our mom goodbye and hitched a ride from Dana. "Like my highlights, Kim?"she asked. "Totally jealous girl!" I said, laughing. We got to Miranda's house. "Let the party begin," Dana said as she locked her car and walked inside.

It happened just like in the movies. Everyone's phones beeped at the same time. They all stared, and soon after their mouths dropped. I looked around and everyone was moving away from me. "What's going on?" I asked. "Why is everyone..." and then I got it. I opened the message and I almost cried.
The message was a picture of me kissing the school head jock, Chad. It had the tag: "Oh my soul. Kimberly Knight was spotted kissing school head jock Chad after beating up his girlfriend. She's a tramp and no one knows why she's here. Why would you do such a thing Kimmy? Why? Get away from her. She's poisonous. She cheats in tests and pays the popular group to like her. She's a liar." There was no name or number from the person who'd sent it. They wanted to destroy me and now they have won.
I couldn't stop crying. There has to be an explanation. I mean, I don't like Chad and we've never kissed. I'd never beat up Bailey, she's my good friend! Everyone was silent, their stares stabbing into me. Then suddenly a group of girls came up and started hitting me. Beating me and spilling alcohol all over me. Kicking, biting, scratching, punching - over and over. They jumped on me and stepped on my head. At this point my tonsils hurt from screaming and crying for help. I just gave up and let them hit me. They hit me so painfully. It started becoming dark and cold.
I opened my mouth as I saw Jake, but no words came out. He left. It started becoming darker. The girls left as suddenly as they had come. I thought it was over, but I felt someone dragging me by my hair and pushing me across the floor. I know I didn't do anything, but they must be so angry for Bailey and the fact that they think I'd pay to be popular.
Oh no...
