Chapter 19.(Unedited)

Amelia's POV

It often happens with us that we plan something for us but it does not go that way because your fate has some other plans for you. As the saying goes what's meant will always find its way. I wish we had way to stop from making its way to us.

I won't lie. I had started liking Aaron. Maybe something more than liking. He had hurt me in the past but after that, whatever he did just made me like him even more.

But after what I saw today, I can't stay in that house anymore. Yes, I like him but not more than my own life right now.

I started packing my bags quickly and made sure I don't leave anything behind that could help him trace me or get to know about my whereabouts. There's no way on earth, I can let him know where am I going or he will kill me.

"Ma'am, are you leaving?" Stella's voice brought me back to the reality.

"Uh." I paused thinking of a lie.

Stella used to take care of Aaron's this penthouse which has so many confidential files. Moreover, she has access to all the rooms. The fact that Aaron trusts her so much stopped me trusting her.

"I was thinking of going out with Kylie and you know have a girl's day out." I plastered a fake smile on my face and tried to show some fake enthusiasm by blabbering about the things that I would love to buy.

"But Ma'am, Sir has strictly ordered me to not let you out of this house."

My blood went cold.

Will they both kill me together? Will they give me a painful death? Is she also involved with this secretive dark thing?

Finally, I managed to gather up some courage and asked, "Why would Aaron say that? I mean, it's not that I am running anywhere."

I instantly started regretting my response. I hope she doesn't guess it by my words and actions that I am actually planning to run away far from Aaron and this place.

"He said that it's not safe for you outside." She looked at me as if she was pleading me through her expressions to listen to her.

It was becoming more and more confusing for me.

"Stella." I took a deep breath, "Why would I not be safe outside? Moreover, I will have Kylie with me. And it's not the first time that I am gonna travel alone." I tried to keep my fake smile intact.

She breathed out in frustration, "Ma'am, it's not that. Please try to understand and stay here. This is the safest place for you now."

I started laughing hysterically at the irony of her words.

Safest place for me?

This is the most dangerous place for me as I am going to get killed here if I don't run away immediately. I am literally standing in the house of my soon to-be-murderer.

Usually, people are with their soon to-be-bride or soon to-be-groom and here I am with my soon to-be-murderer. What an amazing and unique life you have got, Amelia.

"Listen Stella, either you tell me why is not safe for me outside or I am going to ru— I mean, I am going to go outside with Kylie." I replied in a bold tone.

Her silence was getting on my nerves. I decided to leave the place right then and there.

I ignored all her pleads. She tried to catch my hand and stop me but I pushed her and literally just ran away from there.

I was kind of surprised to see that nobody was following me but I was happy too as now it would be easier for me to run away from this place and Aaro—

A black Audi stopped right in front of me almost hitting me.

"Are you blind, idiot? Can't you see that I am crossing the road? Moreover, it's not green signal as yet so don't you dare blame me!" I shouted.

A tired and tensed looking Aaron got down and ran towards me, "Are you okay Amelia? I am so sorry. I just got so worried that I-" He took a deep breath, "I am so sorry Amelia."

"How many cars do you have?" I looked at his car in awe.

Really Amelia? That's what comes to your mind after seeing him here right now? After literally getting to know that he is going to kill you and running away from his house?

Aaron looks as perplexed as me at my question.

I rolled my eyes at myself and tried to walk away from there only to be stopped by Aaron.

"Amelia, please just listen to me. You are not safe there. Try to understand."

"Aaron, leave my hand or I will shout and create a scene over here."

"Amelia, I can't tell you here, please—" I didn't let him finish. I sprinkled red chili powder on his face and ran for my life.

I wonder how many people don't get the one they want, but end up with the one they're supposed to be with. I mean its' okay if you get better than what you wanted.

I was now in a hotel's room. There's no way I can go back to my apartment because he would find me. I had come to this hotel with Kylie when she wanted to spend some alone time with Ken.

Will Kylie tell Aaron that I can be here?

I hope I can trust her this much. She broke my trust earlier because of which I still don't know as of yet. Honestly, I don't know what Aaron and Kylie are up to. Does she know that Aaron was planning to kill me? I had so many questions that literally no answers.

I felt too tired to think of anything else at the moment and decided to take a small power nap. The sound of the calling bell woke up.

I was too sleepy to see through the door hole. And that's where I did a big mistake.

Aaron literally pushed me aside and closed the door.

"Why are you running away from me?" He pinned me to the wall, leaving no chance of my escape.

I looked down at my feet, not being able to find the courage to talk.

"Amelia," The way he took my name, sent down shivers through my body. "I asked, why are you running away from me?"

I somehow gathered the courage to speak but couldn't look at his eyes.

"I know you're gonna kill me. I saw those photos. I read those papers." I whispered as tears started rolling down my cheek.

He sighed and turned away from me showing me his athletic and muscular back.

I cleared my throat and spoke again looking at his back.

"I don't want to die."

He turned around and our eyes locked. There was no expression in his eyes.

"I wish I can save you but, I cannot." He came closer and whispered into my ears.
