Chapter 16(Unedited)

I was restless throughout the day thinking about Aaron's surprise. What could it be? I mean, why does he have to leave me in such suspense? He could have just told me.

Finally, it was 5:30pm when I decided to get dressed. I don't know where he was taking me to. Maybe he was actually planning to kidnap me? Or what if someone else kidnaps me while I am on my way to meet Aaron? Or what if the driver is a part of some gang who will kidnap me? Is this all planned? I better be ready for this.

After thinking of all the worst possibilities, I decided to wear jeans so that I can defend myself and fight with my kidnappers. I am so smart, wow.

I decided on wearing a cream coloured full sleeve crop top with blue jeans there was stripped on my knee area. I tied my hair into a high ponytail so that my hair doesn't disturb me when I am fighting with them. This time I decided to do a little bit of makeup. I applied a thin layer of eye liner along with some coating of mascara. I applied some lip gloss which completed my look. The weather was very comfortable but also windy so I carried my shrug with me though I would prefer wearing Aaron's jacket if I felt cold.

Wait, did I actually say that? I must have gone completely insane.

I took a few photos because I guess I was actually looking good for a change. It was around 5:50pm when I went downstairs where I found Stella waiting for me.

"Mam, your car is here. You may leave now if you are ready."

I smiled at her, "That's great."

The driver looked like a good man. I guess I can trust him. I returned back the smile of the driver and got inside the car.

It was a silent yet comfortable ride. It took us half an hour to reach our destination. I smiled at the driver when he opened the door for me. As soon as I got down from the car, a cold wind hit my face which made me shiver slightly. But it was still not that cold so I decided to leave my shrug in the car.

There was a huge building in front of me. The driver who introduced himself as Cole guided me to the lift. We went to the last floor of the building.

Cole guided me to the terrace where Aaron was standing for me with a smile on his face.

"Hey, Amelia. Kylie once told me that you are very scared of heights so I decided why not we fight with your fear together?"

"What?" Suddenly, my face turned pale when I noticed the chopper.

"Yes, let's go on a fun ride. I am sure you will love the night view of the city from above." He took my hand and walked us towards the chopper.

"Aaron, no. I can't do this. If you know that I am scared of heights, why are you doing?" I was almost on the verge of crying.

Aaron stopped abruptly and looked into my eyes, "Amelia, we need to fight with our fears. Running from it will not help us. I know you must be cursing Kylie as she told me about it but trust me, she was very hesitant but I forced her so she had to say it. And she was happy when she learnt that I will help you to overcome your fear."

I pushed him away in frustration, "Why do you always have to save Kylie? You are always trying to make her look like a saint as if she can never commit any mistake."

"You are misunderstanding, Amelia. I am just clarifying this so that there's no problem between you and Kylie because of me. That's it. Nothing else." He tried to explain.

"Fine, whatever. But, I am not travelling in this, that too with you as the pilot. I don't trust you at all." Aaron looked a bit hurt when I said the line sentence but at this moment, I cared about myself more than his feelings.

"You don't have a choice, Amelia." He came towards me and lifted me off the ground.

I looked at Cole who was looking at us with an amused expression, "Cole! Can't you come and help me? What the hell?"

"He is not going to help you, darling. Don't forget, he works under me, not you." Aaron chuckled.

This was not there when I was thinking about the worst possibilities. I mean, never in my nightmare could I have imagined that something like this was going to happen with me one day. But, life is all about unexpected things.

After struggling and applying all the self defense moves that I have seen in the videos, I finally gave up because they were of no use. Aaron shook his head and smiled when he was making me wear those jackets that were supposed to protect me if something happened. I was literally covered with so many devices and stuffs which I have never seen or heard of.

"What are these things?" I asked.

"These are the basics things worn by the pilot and the person travelling with him in the chopper." Aaron explained .

I rolled my eyes, "If you wanted me to trust you. Then why are you making me wear this life saver jacket and arranging these other stuffs for emergency?"

"This is because I trust myself but I don't trust mine and yours fate so I am just making the arrangements for our safety."

I gave a fake smile at his sarcastic reply, "How thoughtful of you."I continued asking questions to make sure that he actually knows how to fly a chopper, " What are the basic flight instruments? Do you have any idea?"

He laughed, " Yes, my dear. There are basic flight instruments, such as the altimeter that displays aircraft altitude, the airspeed indicator, and the magnetic direction indicator, a form of compass. Additionally, an artificial horizon, turn coordinator, and vertical speed indicator are flight instruments present in most aircraft."

I blinked, "What?"

He continued his laughing, "Nothing, just answered your question."

Finally after loading me and himself with those electronic devices, he looked at me and asked me in a serious and genuine tone, "Amelia, before we start this journey. I am asking you one last time, do you trust me?"

The obedience and promising look in his eyes bewitched me and I nodded, "Yes, I trust you."

He smiled, "Great. Let the journey begin."
