Amelia's POV

I woke up after what felt like few years. I didn't know that I was so tired last night. The room looked acquainted but it wasn't mine.

Wait, what am I doing in Aaron's room?

I was about to get down from the bed when Kylie entered.

"Good Morning Amelia. I fetched you some cookies and coffee." She smiled as she kept the tray beside the bed.

I tried to act as if I didn't hear whatever she said.

Kylie exhaled heavily, "Amelia, for how long are you going to behave like this?"

"Do you think all of this is a joke, Kylie?" I snapped at her.

Kylie beamed, "I am happy that Aaron brought you here. He would tell you the truth and slowly, you would understand everything."

I raised my eyebrows, "Which truth?"

"I promised Aaron to not tell you." Kylie looked down, "But," Her face suddenly lighted up, "I can tell you that I and Ken never broke up, it was a lie."

What the heck?

"What do you mean, Kylie?"

"It was all a lie. I had to do this for you and Aaron." She shrugged.

"What are you saying?"

"Look, Amelia." Kylie sat beside me in the bed, "Aaron truly loves you and will take care of you. Give him one chance to prove his love."

Aaron does what?

No, I can't believe it at all.

"Kylie, do you even know what you are—"

"Yes, Amelia. I know. I'm just telling you the truth. Don't ask me how, when and why. Just believe it. Some things are better left unsaid and unexpressed." Kylie smiled gloomily.

"I do not understand. Even Aaron told me something regarding protecting me when I came to his flat last time and now, you're also telling the same thing. I need protection from whom and why? What have I done?" I suddenly lost my nerve and started to panic all of a sudden.

"Amelia, please calm down. Just remember that if you're with Aaron, you're out of harm's way."

"A-are you t-trying to say t-that my l-life is in d-danger?" I stammered.

"Amelia—"

"Kylie, don't lie. Please tell me. Is my life in danger?" I clutched Kylie's hand for support.

"Yes, Amelia. It is." Kylie sighed.

"Oh my god. But why? What have I done? I had never done anything bad neither did I cheat on anybody. I am not a fraud or trickster. Is somebody taking any revenge? Will that person kidnap me or will that person kill—" My body started to shake and Kylie hugged me tightly to give me some support.

"Amelia, I wish I could tell you, but I can't. But, don't worry. As I said, as long as you're with Aaron, you're sheltered and secured. Nobody can harm you." Kylie patted my back like she used to do whenever I panicked.

"Where is Aaron?" I wiped off my tears.

"He's off to work. If you want, I can take you to his office, you can talk with him there." Kylie proposed.

"But, his boss must get angry and what if I interrupt him during his important and weighty meeting and he gets fired or something?" I asked as I took a sip of my coffee.

Kylie chuckled, "You don't have to worry about that Hon. He, himself is the boss."

"Wait, what? He is a boss of a company?"

"You must have certainly heard of the name of the Costello Company?" Kylie asked as took a bite of a cookie.

"Of course, I know. In fact, who doesn't know? It's one of the most successful companies of UK."

"Yes, exactly. And well, Mr. Aaron Costello is the boss."

"Kylie,enough of your joking. You know— Wait! Are you serious? Oh God, Why didn't I notice it before? I saw this name in the magazines." I grumbled.

Kylie chortled, "Because you didn't know that his last name was Costello."

"Anyways, I'm still not sure whether I should forgive you or not." I struggled to look serious.

Kylie expression changed from the merry one to the one of fear and dread.

Her expression made me laugh which made Kylie realize that I was just teasing her.

"You little imp!" Kylie exclaimed and we both laughed.

It felt wonderful to get back my friend. I missed her so much.

"Girl,get ready." Kylie smirked.

"For?" I urged.

"You are going to meet Aaron!"

That seems to be quite interesting. I need to get ready as soon as possible. After all, I was going to meet The Aaron Costello.

Time for some action, Amelia.
