"Hello my name is Kieran, I want to become a Pokemon master just like Ash Ketchum."

It was the next day, I was woken up by Jordy's Spearow, who was making a noise in my room.

“Oh sorry Kieran, Spearow that wasn't nice. You woke Kieran up.” Said Jordy.

'Spearow'

The Spearow came over to me, it seemed to be apologizing but I ensured it that everything was okay. There was no harm done, mind you it was 10:30, and we should have left an hour ago to go to the first gym, Pewter city gym, where Brock is the leader, who I know from his journey with Ash.

I went into the bathroom, had a quick shower and brushed my teeth. I went back into my bedroom to change.

5 minutes later....

Everyone was ready to go, Jordy's Spearow was still out of it's pokeball.

“Don't you think you should put Spearow back into it's pokeball?” Jack asked.

“Yeah your right ..... Spearow return.” Said Jordy. (Spearow returned to it's pokeball).

Everyone left the hotel, giving the keys back to the manager.

We continued our journey through route one. Looking at all the Pidgey's and Spearow's.

“Hey I have an idea, why don't we battle each other? This way we can see who gets to go first to challenge Brock for the gym badge.” Asked Jack.

“Hmm... Your right Jack, what a perfect idea.” I said.

“The way to decide who battles who, pick a straw. Who ever has the two longest one battles each other and who ever has the two shortest one battles each other.” Said Jordy.

I pick a straw first, it was a long one. I was followed by Lois, she got a short one. Jack picked his one, he got a short one meaning I was facing Jordy while Jack and Lois face off.

Me and Jordy let Lois and Jack face off first.

Jordy was the referee for the match.

“This will be one on one battle the first Pokemon to be left standing is declared the winner.... Good luck both of you. Lets the battle begin.” Said Jordy.

Jack sent out his Bulbasaur while Lois sent her Eevee out, looking at this battle it will be tough.
I looked on my pokedex for the love of both Pokemon :

Eevee moves:
Sand attack
Tackle
Helping hand
Growl

Bulbasaur:
Tackle
Growl

,While the battle was going on I was thinking about a strategy I will use to try to win this battle against Jordy.

She has two Pokemons to battle; her Squirtle and her Spearow. If I use Charmander against Squirtle I will be at a disadvantage because of type, so I will have to use my Pidgey. I hope that would work.

I look up, the battle was getting more interesting. Jack was attacking,

“Bulbasaur use tackle.” He Demanded.

“Eevee dodge and use sand attack. Than, use tackle.” Said Lois.

It was a hit, “Bulbasaur is unable to battle, that means Lois and Eevee are the winner.” Eevee won the battle, it was a really good match between the two.

It was my turn, Jack was the referee for the match.

“Okay guys this is a two on two battle, the person with both Pokemon out is the loser and the person left standing is the winner.... You are allowed to switch Pokemon any time during the battle. Good luck.... Let battle begin.” Said Jack.

“Okay Squirtle your up.” Said Jordy.

As I thought. “Come on out Pidgey.”

I remembered Squirtle's attack which was tail whip and tackle. While, my Pidgey had sand attack, gust and tackle. , So I will make sure to use all my attacks.

Jordy attacks first with tackle, it was a hit but wasn't much damage to my Pokemon. I proceeded with my attack.

“Pidgey use sand attack.”

The good thing about that attack the opposite Pokemon never knows what happens next.

“Squirtle can you see Pidgey?” Asked Jordy.

I used my next moves.

“Pidgey use tackle, then use gust.”

Both was a hit. Squirtle was still standing and ready for battle like nothing had happened.

Jordy commanded it to use its next move: tackle, it began to repeatedly use the move. Pidgey was getting hurt, I shouted for Pidgey to use sand attack to blind Squirtle.

It worked than I instructed Pidgey to use gust.

“Squirtle is unable to battle... Pidgey is the winner.” Said Jack.

“Squirtle return.... you did great... thank you... now take a long hard rest.... Spearow it's your turn for battle.” Said Jordy.

I returned my Pidgey to bring out my Charmander.

'Spearow has move set of gust, tackle and growl.'

I attacked first using scratch twice. It did some damage but not enough.

Spearow attacked with gust, flying my Charmander away. Lucky it landed on its feet.

Charmander used growl to lower the attack which was good until Jordy got Spearow to use the same move lowering our attack.

Charmander use scratch one more time. It did damage but Spearow was still standing as Jordy told Spearow to use gust I returned my Charmander. I believe that was a good move on my behalf.

Pidgey comes back out, it used gust as it's first attack.

It was a back and forward match between Pidgey and Spearow. The last attack came from Spearow crushing both my Pidgey and itself into the ground.

“Both Pokemon unable to battle. Meaning Kieran wins due to still having a Pokemon left.” Said Jack.

I walked over to Jordy.

“Wow Jordy that was a great match, thank you for being my first opponent. One day you will beat me I know it.”

We both smiled and shook hands. We headed to next destination, which was the poke centre.

All our Pokemon's healed up, it was nighttime so me and Lois agreed to have our battle tomorrow.

As we were making our way to the hotel to stay for the night. Jack stopped to find a Pokemon hurt.

We all got out our pokedex.

“Ekans, the poison type Pokemon. Ekans curls itself up in a spiral while it rests. Assuming this position allows it to quickly respond to a threat from any direction with a glare from its upraised head.”

We needed to get help. So we all ran back to the poke centre to where Nurse Joy took the hurt Pokemon to get it medically checked out.

It had been about 10 minutes just as Jack was about to go find Nurse Joy. She came back with Ekans, she was fully healthy. It wrapped itself around Jack, giving him love.

Jack had the biggest smile on his face.

“I think Ekans is in love with you Jack. So are  you going to catch her or are you going to let it make love to you all night long?” I said to him.

“Ekans do you want to come along with me on my journey?” Jack said.

Ekans nodded, but she wanted a battle according to Nurse Joy.

We all headed to the back of the Pokemon centre to where a battle field was.

“Okay, Bulbasaur. Fight.” Jack shouted.

I looked on my pokedex at Ekans moves;wrap, leer, poison string and bite. Jack is at a disadvantage because grass and poison type like Bulbasaur won't win this battle.

Jack attacked first with growl. Bulbasaur was fast because it used tackle straight after growl.

Ekans came back with a bite, Bulbasaur managed to recover to use the same moves again this time hurting the Pokemon even more.

“Bulbasaur use tackle one more time.” Jack said.

It was a clean hit, Ekans was down.

“Go pokeball.” Jack shouted.

It was going and going and going we were on the edge waiting for it to click to say he had got Ekans.

Cling!

We all celebrate with Jack on his new team-mate Ekans.

At the hotel, I'm in my room writing in my diary about today:

“You can over come odds even if you are at disadvantage. I will battle Lois tomorrow hopefully I win, Until next time goodnight.”
