Grain by Grain
Those grains keep
Slipping through
The narrow conduits
It slowly empties
The glass is flipped
And everything repeats
However much we strive
To slow it down
Or stop it
It makes us grayer
Slightly slower
As we age bit by bit
In the very end
You realise
That time has been a friend
Through changing tide
Through ups and downs
It never left your side
