City lights stealing night sky
The improbable flight of a steely monster
{Unequaled beauty of frosted leaves}
Twisted views from tiny windows
{Wrapped around a heart that grieves}
An abundance of wipes to clean my hands
{A pair of swans on a quiet lake}
Lavatory symbols in awkward dance
{Faithful, as written in their DNA}
The monotonous voice from muffled speakers
{Insatiable screeching seagulls}
Talks about temperatures and airspace jams
{Wait for scraps from white-tailed eagles}
The smell of disinfected lives
{Three deers stand still in a clearing}
Lonely husbands, lonely wives
{Wary of threats that are lurking}
Wing beacons pulsate like synthetic heartbeats
{Majestic, snow-draped mountainside}
A hypnotizing lullaby
{Its snowflake-whisper amplified}
My boring book gets one more dog-ear
{The moon is the star of the evening}
And I slowly disembark from the rear
{In this unannounced celestial play}
City lights stifle nature's twilight
{When I see her in the crowd, waving at me}
Mother earth on life support
{My soul soon forgets the absurdity}
