"Catch you on the flip-side"
(inspired by Sugar man, by Sixto Rodriguez)
Walking down E Warren avenue
Ready for a groovy night
At the Red Carpet Lounge
I bumped into a sweet hippie girl
Sup babie, what's poppin'
Hey man, she replied
I know this funky spot
Called The Lafayette Orleans
Why don't you and I
Head on over there
And take it to the max
You know, get down and boogie
I tell ya dude, it's blazin'
Can you dig it?
She popped her fancy
Cigarette case
Doobies neatly lined
It aint a freaky-deaky
Kind of place, I asked
Cause I'm tired of the jelly brains
Mellow out, have some J
And don't be such a panzy
I'm tellin you 4sho
It's strictly 'bout the boogie
If you can promise me
Some good vibes, hon
I'm cool with it, I guess
Right on my man
Perhaps you're not
Such a doofus after all
Jeepers creepers
This place is funkadellic
Let's get jiggy with it
I spoke too soon
Here come the acid heads
C'mon sweet girl,
What do ya say
Why don't we blow this taco stand
Dream on brother
I'm in the groove
Catch you on the flip-side
~
