The Snake and the Owl
There's a snake slithering across my chest
My lungs struggle to expand
The heat lamp is far too low
Burning my skin with a snake-like hiss
Hooting a midnight tune sits an owl
She watches perched on her oak tree
Constricting tighter and tighter
The snake curls to sleep
