Static Electricity
City lights fly past us at light speed
The changing leaves are invisible at night
I missed the sounds of life around every corner
My earrings wave like a flag in the wind
I've missed feeling so alive
Earlier today I finally cut my hair after months of letting it grow
My natural hair color is beginning to push out my faded pink and blonde
We're both wearing green
It's not your favourite shirt
But the stars align on very few occasions
To which you become wonderfully predictable
Last year's mums are blooming in my front yard
We planted them in flower beds
Not expecting a comeback in the following fall
Just like you and your miraculous methods
Of weaving your way into my path
Though we've crossed like this twice
And that doesn't establish a pattern
Similar to my mums
City lights don't hold a candle to your electric eyes
Or the flash of thunder in your static laugh
It would be incredibly cheesy but you
To throw back your head and let out a vagabond howl
Purely dedicated to the alleyways and countryside we will never see
