Human
You have a knack for making me feel human
Maybe that's why you've been on my mind lately
Something about the beam of light from your computer
Reflecting off your glasses as you read at the speed of light
A talent that certainly wouldn't dare to be mine
You don't mind that I read slowly
Or that I need to read a piece multiple times
It's nice to read without a looming pressure
You also don't mind that my hands shake when I read aloud
Or the mistakes I stumble over in my own writing
I should perform my poetry more often
The adrenaline rush is addictive
I'd rather stick to my one or two person audience
Until I get the guts to find my way back to the stage
Still you sit back, looking through your thick lenses
Politely listening to the most recent discovery of old poetry
[I came by for my usual poetry dump and this is part 200! how cool is that? ik there aren't 200 poems published because i did unpublish a few, but just wanted to share :) little book from middle school coming a long way.]
