Hesitation
I'm not good at remembering faces
But yours I can't forget
I can't forget your face when my voice exceeded its usual volume
Your weight shifting away and towards me
An internal debate in process
Subtle movements in your wiry eyebrows
Eyes hesitant to look away but nervous to keep staring
I'm not good at remembering what I'm told
But I can recall your hollow silence
Right down to the shaky breath you let out
A symptom of the gears in your mind cranking at supersonic speeds
Trying to figure out what to say next
If speaking was even necessary after that moment
