Mourning Over Our Losses

04/13/2022; 04/15/2022

This is a poem that a good friend of mine, PlsGiveMeABook made for a very important reason for the two of us.

My pet cockatiel (my second one) and PlsGiveMeABook's betta recently passed, so in honor of the memories we cherish of them, here are our respective poems dedicated to them.

PlsGiveMeABook's poem:

Birb and a fish

Birb and a fis

Birb and a fi

Birb and a f

Birb and a

Birb and

Birb an

Birb a

Birb

Bir

Bi

B

Bird and a fish

Grant me a wish~

That I just came up with on the fly!

Please let us always remember you.

We are sad that you have died.

We shall move on, despite sorrow and and grievance.

Our attendance to your funerals somber.

Yet I linger and longer

On what you wished for us.

So marvelous birb and fish,

let us remember you.

'Tis my only wish

:')

Here is my poem:

To our beloved pets, a farewell we ensure

My sweet cockatiel, so very demure

Her lovely betta, with allure

We loved you very much

And though your departure is a crutch,

We won't hold a grudge

You will remain in our hearts forever

We will forget you never

And we you live well wherever

To our beloved pets, the time has come

To take care of one another

Betta and Cockatiel

Dymond and Myself

Farewell.

We miss you.

Author's note: PlsGiveMeABook's eraser poem was made on 04/13/2022, and she made it on the fly.

I however, made my poem two days later, while I was making this chapter, and in my typical style, I took a much longer time than Dymond did on my poem (because I can't do anything other than perfection).

The two of us decided to post both of our poems to our respective poem books, so I would greatly appreciate it if you could see Dymond's poem in her book and give her support there.

My cockatiel had been fighting a disease for a long time now, and unfortunately, she had succumbed to the disease. In her last few days, she kept asking for attention (more than usual) and would just plop herself on my lap, as she had no energy to do anything else. I have this constant lingering feeling that I could have done something for her, but the ultimate truth is, we had done everything we could. Sometimes, that's just the way life is.

The day that my cockatiel died, I spent a great amount of time mourning over her loss. I also remembered my previous cockatiel and his demise, and it was simply a day full of sorrow and grief.

I am now left with my other bird, whose identity will remain a secret. All I can say is that he's not doing too well either. He's having his mood swings and it's clear as day that he's also mourning the loss of his best friend.

Dymond, I'm glad that I have someone to share this pain with, and I'm here for you. I hope our pets are together, having fun, and reminiscent of the memories they had with us.

R.I.P. Cockatiel and Betta
