Lady Moon
Disclaimer: I did not write this. My friend fougeredesolitaire wrote it. Go check out some of their works.
She makes her appearance only at night,
After the sunset; preceding the dawn.
In the day, I long to see her beauty,
But it seems as though she has disappeared.
I weep on nights she doesn’t visit me;
Nights when clouds envelope the starry sky.
I cry when she is only half herself,
And I praise her when she is truly whole.
I bask in her gracefulness, her pure light,
Hoping she may see me as I see her.
I long to hold her in my arms’ embrace,
Even if it may be but only once,
Though this dream of mine may never come true.
For she is the moon, and I am nothing.
