Spoken Word
What better way to live than in the moment
But what some wouldn't give to get out of the torment
The one percenters with life handed to them on a silver platter
The ones who'll never have to pay, never have to work a single day
Then there's the rest of us
The ones who have to fight to survive and have to struggle just to provide
The ones with the families and working 9 to 5
Day in and day out, making a living but not really alive
It's funny how the spoken word holds the unspoken truth
While one's broken word is the unbroken proof
Of who you are on the inside,
Are you the one who collects or do you provide?
Do you get handed every dime
Or do you earn it for your time
Would you be the one stealing if the tables were turned
Or would you be the one peeling off the labels you 'earned'
Would you rise above your place in society
Crumble and fall in line, behave with propriety
Or would you be the one to live for today
Live for the moment and have the last say
Live your life how you want to
Nobody can live it for you
Don't let life win the fight
Always keep pushing every day and night
Never give up
Never give in
With any luck
You'll be the one to win
The one who's rest assured,
The one who stayed alive
Who used your spoken word
And lived, not just survived
