So our government is corrupt,
But we are to young to understand,
We must sit back and smile,
As they destroy our land.

If we ever raise our voices,
They'll tell us that we're wrong,
We are too naive to know,
To do anything but smile along.

So we must smile and pretend,
To not know a thing,
When inside we must look around,
And teach ourselves everything.

We must become educated,
We must try to understand,
We must teach ourselves all that we can,
We must be prepared to stand.

I know this may seem crazy,
Like it isn't real at all,
But if you just bask in ignorance,
Then you will be the first to fall.

So go ahead and keep smiling,
Pretend it is okay,
We may not be able to do anything now,
But there will come a day.

All of us who learn, 
Will be prepared to rise,
So that when the day will come,
We will not see our demise.
