Being a Slytherin had never been easy, but Michelle always comforted herself with the knowledge that Merlin himself, the greatest wizard to ever live, was a Slytherin. First Class Order of Merlin's come with a green ribbon to reflect his house, for fuck's sake! She wasn't a bad person, no matter how badly the other Houses – especially the insufferably bigheaded Gryffindors – made her feel.  Cunning, powerful and misunderstood, just like a snake, that's what Michelle was and she refused to let anyone make her feel less than what she was – and she was damn good!

So when Dumbledore approached her about joining his organization, the Order of the Phoenix, after graduation, Michelle jumped at the chance. Of course, war isn't easy when you have former Housemates trying to get you to join the enemy (House loyalty, what utter nonsense!) while your own side treats you like the enemy ("Once a snake, always a snake" blah blah blah). Whoever said "high school never dies" had no idea just how right they were. Even twenty-odd years later, when the Order is reformed, things hadn't changed. She certainly hadn't missed being called "Chewie" by Black. Not to mention the utter horror of being partnered with her longtime crush, Remus Lupin.
