Little history about this place because I think it's REALLY cool

So for those not familiar with the United States and Canada or the geography, the state of Alaska is completely separated from the rest of the US by Canada. During WWII, Americans wanted to build a road to Alaska, as Japan was threatening it, but that meant getting permission from the Canadian government. The Canadian government initially refused, and it wasn't until Japan occupied two outlying islands in Alaska that the US got permission to build the road. In 1942, a worker from Danville, Illinois was feeling homesick, so he decided to hang a sign in this town with the name of his town and the mileage there. Other people began doing it too, and now, 76 years later, there are 84,000+ signs all in this one place. Idk, I just think it's really cool.
