Prologue

Vegas and Pete were in the meeting room, Vegas was not very happy about the unwanted guest who was currently tied up in the basement.

"We couldn't get the other one, and our cameras seemed to have malfunctioned because it kept glitching so we can't track them either." Tul, one of the bodyguards explained.

"So you are telling me that two boys were able to break into my house, mess with my cameras, beat up half of my bodyguards and almost got away with my watch collection..... matter of fact, one of them actually got away." Vegas said calmly, too calm that it sent shivers down the bodyguards spine.

Tul knew better than to answer. One wrong word, and it could be his last words.

"And you still haven't identified who sent him." Vegas Continued.

"He refused to say anything, but we searched him for clues. He had a tattoo of a dragon on his back. There used to be a gang called 'the serpent' they all had similar tattoos of a dragon on their back. But a few years ago, they disassembled once their leader and a few of them died. I believe he is a member." The bodyguard explained.

So he was a mere gang member, Vegas didn't know if he should feel threatened or not. While the boy did not belong to any mafia association, the boy did manage to wreck havoc. Havoc that shouldn't take a single person to wreck.

"Okay then. He doesn't seem that significant." Vegas said.

"Vegas, you are not going to kill him right? He's just a kid. Not that older than Syn." Pete spoke.

"I wasn't going to kill him. I wouldn't want his skills to go to waste. He seems more skilled that half of the bodyguards put together. Plus you're right. He doesn't look that much older than Syn which makes him perfect to be Syn's personal bodyguard. He can go to school with Syn and protect Syn 24/7." Vegas said.

Syn, their adorable second son who would never do anything to hurt a living being. As a child of one of the most dangerous people, you are prone to danger and need to learn how to defend yourself.

Phayu didn't have any problems with learning how to fight and actually win fights but Syn on the other hand was not one for violence.

Ironic considering his parents were the living embodiment of violence, but Syn was not about that life. Syn could never hurt another person even if it was out of self defence. It didn't help that Syn had a traumatic past regarding violence.

So it made Vegas and Pete to worry for their son. But they couldn't have a 32 years old bodyguard following him to school that would just be weird but the boy in the basement would be perfect for the role.

"And if he refuses?" Pete asked. He wanted to make sure killing the boy was completely out of the question.

"He's not going to refuse." Vegas said simply.

Pete was not satisfied with his husband's answer but he didn't push.

"Alright, let's go pay our guest a visit." Vegas said.

Nuer was barely conscious, he was glad that at least, Thomas was able to get away with one of the watches. Nobody should notice its gone since they were so many.

Nuer had basically gave himself up to be captured to give Thomas time to escape. Nier was sure he was going to die but he knew that since he decided to enter the Theerapayakun house.

He was prepared for it though. At least they succeeded and that was what mattered the most. With King's help, they would be able to sell the watch and are pretty much set for life.

At least Gems won't have to have a rough life. The youngest of the group did not deserve to live like that. None of them did. Nuer vowed that none of them would have to live the way he lived and he had fulfilled that promise. So he was ready for whatever consequences there were.

The door opened and heavy footsteps echoed around the basement. Nuer sighed. He had not regrets.

Thomas, please take care of everyone and make sure Latte and Keng never pick a fight with each other again. I hope you all live good lives.

Nuer braced himself for what was coming next. Would they be merciful and just put a bullet through his brain? Or were they going to take their time with knives making sure he feels every bit of pain before leaving the earth.

Finally under the dim light was a good looking man with a psychotic smile. Nuer had seen a lot of chilling things in his life and this one was by far the worst.

Forget the knives, Nuer would be lucky if he died tonight.

"Hi." Vegas said.

Nuer didn't give any response, no reaction, nothing.

"You're quite young for the set of skills you possess." Vegas said holding Nuer's face and examining him.

His face which was heavily bruised. Nuer winced in pain as Vegas thumb dug into one of the bruises on his face.

Nuer managed to release his face from Vegas' grasps and glared at the man.

Vegas smiled in response.

"Here's the deal, normally when someone steals from me, they don't live to see the next day but given your skills, I'd like to offer you a job." Vegas said.

Nuer become confused and surprised.

"You see, I have a son, not much younger than you, he's a sweet soul but you and I both know what this world does to sweet things." Vegas spoke surprisingly softly.

Nuer was not sure where the man was going with it.

"So I'd like to hire you to be his personal bodyguard. Do this and we will overlook your trespassing today." Vegas Continued.

"And if I don't?" Nuer asked.

"That, we wouldn't want to find out. I'm giving you a pardon and a job aren't you curious about your pay? And you would be working with the Theerapayakuns. I don't think you know what an honour that is." Vegas said.

"On one condition." Nuer said.

"Do you really think you are in the position to make requests?" Vegas asked.

"You want me right? Then listen to my condition. I'm not abandoning my gang. You want me, then you gotta take them too." Nuer said.

"And if I refuse?" Vegas asked.

"Then you can find someone else to guard your son." Nuer said.

Vegas stared Nuer down but Nuer did not shrink.

"You know what, I like you kid. Fine its a deal." Vegas said. What he didn't say was that Nuer actually reminded him of his younger self

Nuer didn't think he would actually agree but he was glad.

"So who am I protecting?" Nuer asked.

"His name is Syn."

A/n here's the prologue. It was a lot better in my head I swear. Anyway till the next chapter.  Hope you liked it. Bye
