Ever since his mother left him and his father for another man, Taehyung's life had never been the same. His father would often come home at late hours drunk, beating up the eight year old Taehyung until his pent up stress for the day was released. Despite the monstrous behaviour, Taehyung was never able to make himself hate, let alone leave his father for he knew, deep down inside, the remaining sober part of his father loved him. And needed him to overcome his pain.
He knew how much love his father had for his mother. He knew how hard he worked to impress her, to make her happy, to provide her with all the luxuries she wished for. And that is why, after all these years Taehyung still loves his father, for he knew it wasn't his fault, but his mother's for turning his once innocent father into a monster.
Taehyung was only ten when his father left him forever leaving him under the care of his grandmother. "It's because of a lung cancer", the doctors have said, but Taehyung was sure he saw his father taking some pills the night before. Nobody believed him though. Or maybe they did, but told him otherwise not to wound his little heart anymore.
Taehyung was a broken child when his grandmother took him to Busan, her hometown. Aftermath of the incidents left him wounded and shocked that he locked himself in his small room, let alone meet anyone for months.
It was the day his grandmother decided to bring a small boy with the roundest cheeks he's ever seen to their place, that Taehyung's grey life received it's first ray of sunshine. "Hey sweety, meet your new neighbor!" his grandmother has said. Unsure of what to do, Taehyung had remained frozen in his spot staring at the little stranger in front of him when a small hand reached out to him.
"Hi! I'm Park Jimin! It's nice to meet you!" The little boy had chirped, smiling at him with the most beautiful eye smile he has ever seen. "H-hi..I'm Taehyung. Nice to meet you too.." Taehyung's heart had skipped a beat when his little neighbor reached out and intertwined their fingers together.
