Loving Jungkook was the worst mistake Jimin made in life

"Jimin...," he can feel Jungkook's hot breath fanning over the back of his neck. With tears threatening to spill down any moment, Jimin continued to avoid facing the younger. "Jimin.." Jungkook's hands are securing their place on Jimin's waist now and he can feel his chest constrict in pain. Jimin had to squeeze his eyes shut to control his piling up emotions. He cannot risk having an emotional breakdown right now. Not in front of Jungkook. He should stay strong and under control. At least until he gets out of the younger's sight.

Loving Jungkook was the worst mistake Jimin made in life. It all began when they were introduced to each other almost five years back, as young trainees to form the Bangtan Boys. Jimin was of course attracted to the younger from day one which eventually grew out to be an innocent little crush and he never failed to express it whenever he got the chance. Unfortunately, Jungkook was oblivious to the intentions behind all the affection and attention he's getting from Jimin and wasn't comfortable enough to return what he's receiving. So instead of being accepted by the maknae, Jimin was always rejected and ignored by him.

Crushes never last long and Jimin was well aware of this. He knew that his crush for Jungkook will come to an end anytime soon and it did. At least he thought it did, until one cold evening, tired of his Jimin hyung not paying him much attention anymore, Jungkook finally decided to return Jimin's affection. It was pure bromance of course, when Jungkook came into his room that night and hugged Jimin to sleep saying that he missed his little hyung so much. That's the exact moment when Jimin's heart started beating to a different rhythm and it didn't took him much time to realize that his feelings for Jungkook are no joke and he's completely screwed.

Jungkook continued paying him more attention and affection, but was never aware of the emotional turmoil Jimin's going thorough inside each time they interact. Thanks to Jimin's praise able acting skills, they became best friends soon afterwards, for Jungkook was never aware of Jimin's true feelings for him.

Two years have passed now and they are still best friends. And Jimin can't bear it anymore. He can't bear seeing himself as the hyung who dearly loves him in the maknae's eyes. He's tired of seeing Jungkook flirting with everybody else, but him for he is Jungkook's best friend. He's tired of holding on to a false hope that someday he will be the special someone in Jungkook's eyes and there'll be a happily ever after for them. He's tired of everything. And that's why he decided to leave.
Leave everything for a while and take a break. He needs to sort out his feelings and priorities first, before moving on. And Jungkook's not letting him.
With his face hidden at the nape of Jimin's neck, Jungkook is holding on to him now. So tight that Jimin's suffocating. Not physically, but mentally. Jimin stubbornly remained his gaze fixed ahead without turning back to the younger. Until a few minutes later Jungkook decided to lift his head up a little and whisper, " Hyung... Please don't leave me.." He sounded so broken and it was enough to set Jimin's tears free. He had to use up all his remaining strength to stop himself from breaking down in front of the younger for he doesn't want his vulnerability exposed to Jungkook now. "Kookie-ah..," Jimin finally decided to speak, "hyung needs to leave now. It's only for a little while sweety. You know that already right? I'll come back soon after taking a little break.." Jungkook's still not letting him go. "But why all of a sudden? You never wanted to take a break before!" He's whining like a kid now. Jimin needs to leave the dorm before it gets too late. He needs to get out of Jungkook's hold now. "Jungkook-ah, you know it's not a sudden decision. I'm just tired of this hectic life. Tight schedules and all. I know that I'm sounding selfish, but I need some time to think about what I actually want in life. What I want to gain in life. So please geuk-ah.. let hyung go now.." Jimin feels terrible for lying, but it's for their best. He doesn't want to hurt Jungkook. Instead of letting him go, Jungkook tightened his hold around Jimin more. " Jiminie hyung.. can't we sort it out together? Like we always did before? Can't we bot go on a holiday and comeback? H-hyung please..." Jungkook's half crying and half pleading right now breaking Jimin's heart into pieces. He can't let his guard down. No. Not now. He'll cry his heart out once he walk out of the door. Jimin, with all the little amount of strength remaining, broke himself free from Jungkook's arms and ran towards the door when he felt a strong hand pulling him back. The rest happened in a flash, and his lips are met with Jungkook's. Jungkook held Jimin tight on to his chest and kissed him hard. It was long, messy and full of mixed emotions, for both were crying through it. Jimin was shocked at first, but returned the kiss with much passion afterwards. Jungkook was the first to pull off minutes later, only to whisper " Jimin.. I love you. I've always loved you.. right from the beginning.." And their lips met again, moving with a much slower pace this time.
All Jimin could think was, falling in love with Jungkook was the best mistake he's done in life.
