Meet Taurus
"Taurus?" I asked quietly. "No need to whisper, they can hear you clearly even if you do. This way," he smiled as we stepped closer to the sleeping man. Instantly I saw how muscular he was. His position was so relaxed, I wonder if this is his personal garden or if he just worked here. We stood over him before Ophiuchus cleared his throat. The man looked up revealing his beautiful light green eyes. I've never seen anything like them before. They almost glowed, absolutely stunning. "Can I help you," he said in a gruff low voice as he stood up and removed his hat, revealing his emerald colored hair. Which contrasted very well with his sun tanned skin and eyes.
"Remember you have a date today Taurus. Meet Ms. Olivia," smiled Ophiuchus gesturing towards me. He looked down at me and slowly blinked. I was a little intimidated. He's so tall, wouldn't surprise me if was 7 foot. "I didn't forget, I just didn't think you were serious," he sighed. "Come on now it's not like you had busy plans today aside from the usual. Be nice and show them a good time," chuckled Ophiuchus before disappearing. Taurus let out a deep sigh staring to where Ophiuchus once stood.
"Hello," I said nervously and he turned his attention to me. "You can call me Fintan. Don't be scared I couldn't kill you, even if I wanted to," he said sitting back down. "Oh... can I sit next to you," I asked and he shrugged leaning back onto the tree. I sat down and watched as he closed his eyes again. I looked around enjoying the view of all the plants. Everything looked to be in season. I guess that's the magic of this place. "Ari would be in a straight panic if she was me," I thought slowly closing my eyes. It was so nice, and relaxing. The smell of the different plants and flowers mixed with potting soil seemed so tranquil. It didn't occur to me that I fell asleep. I felt like I was on a heating mat. So warm I felt so secure. I slowly opened my eyes to see find myself against his chest. Fintan was holding me with my head nuzzled in his neck! I felt like a small child and my face turned bright red.
"I'm so sorry I-," My panic was interrupted by him shushing me. "You were shivering even though it's warm in here. So I warmed you up, it's fine though," he said quickly. "Wait I was," I whispered covering my mouth. "Yeah, just go back to sleep, it's only been a few minutes. My break doesn't end for another 30 min so let me relax," Fintan replied back. "Are you sure," I asked. "Yes stop asking," he frowned. "Ok I'm just making sure," I mumbled. "Yes I'm sure," he sighed. I tried to relax but his heartbeat made me flustered. His arms even though they were big and muscular... they were so gentle, and he was so calm. "I've never got cold when it's been this warm before? Is he lying? What would he gain from that. Maybe he just doesn't know how to be open about how he feels," I thought falling back asleep. By the time I woke up I noticed that I was being carried in in one arm, my head on his shoulder. "What's going on!" I panicked. "You're very loud," Fintan sighed and I covered my mouth when I noticed I was right by his ear. "I'm really sorry," I whispered. "It's fine. Anyway I couldn't wake you and I have work to do. So I'm carrying you," he said continuing to pick fruit off the small trees in the back of the greenhouse. I didn't even notice these were here when I walked in. "You could've set me down," I said quickly. "No I couldn't have," he sighed as Fintan tossed another couple apples into a basket on his back. His hands were so big. Being able to pick three at a time. The baskets themselves was so massive that I'm pretty sure I could have fit inside. "I can walk now," I said looking down. "No you can't I'll carry you," Fintan said back. "Come on," I protested but he was ignoring me. After a bit I spoke up again. "Um it's been a while I bet you're tired," I nervously. "No," he said walking to the next tree. "You're very stubborn, you know that," I pouted. "Really? Haven't noticed," Fintan said rolling his eyes. "Fine," I whispered as I watching him work. He really is stubborn. He didn't set me down for anything. Just did all his work one handed while I watched. Over all this date is really relaxing. "Fintan is hard working despite seeming like he was lazy when I met him. I wouldn't mind coming back to see him," I smiled to myself. "Are you hungry," Fintan asked looking down at me. "Uh yes, a little," I said nervously. He quietly walked to the door we came in from with me still in his arms. He reached for the lunch bag on the hook next to the door. "You pack your own lunch?" I asked as he walked back to the large tree in the center of the greenhouse. "Not usually, but I made this just in case you were actually going to show up for this date thing," Fintan said unenthusiastic. "Oh... sorry for that," I said sadly. "Don't be, it not a big deal," he sighed as he set me down on his lap and opened the bag to reveal a dark green lunch box container. Popping it open to reveal fresh cut fruits and vegetables on one side. With a pasta salad for the main course. "Oh wow! It looks so good," I gasped. "It's vegan and gluten-free..., I didn't know if you could eat certain things and I wanted to be safe," Fintan whispered like he was embarrassed. "That's so sweet," I said surprised before taking a bite. The fruit was so fresh and sweet I've never had anything like it. The vegetables had the right amount of snap and crunch, while the pasta salad filled me up pretty quick. "It was Pierce's idea. I would have packed you something more hearty. Something big like what I would eat after all this work, but I didn't want to make you uncomfortable so I ask them for help," Fintan said looking away from me. "Pierce?" I asked. "You'll meet them so enough," he explained. I finished eating and I smiled at him. "Well then I'll remember to thank them as well, but for now... Thank you for everything today. I enjoyed our date," I said happily and he nodded.
"I think we should end this date here. It's getting dark," Fintan said sitting down with me on his lap. "I suppose you're right," I smiled back. He gave me a small smile in return. "I hope I wasn't much of a bother," I said nervously. "Work went a little slower, but I'm glad you're not a complainer," he said before he shrugged. Fintan took the now empty container from my hands and put it back in the bag. "Ok uh I guess. Well good bye," I waved to him and I was suddenly at my apartment, sitting at the table. Ophiuchus was drinking a hot tea across from me. "How was it," he smiled. "It was very relaxing, but we didn't talk much till the very end. I'm not sure if he even liked me," I sighed putting my head on the table.
"Understandable, they've always been like that. Don't let it get to you. Typically it takes a long time for them to warm up to anyone," Ophiuchus assured. "Oh well that makes sense," I nodded. "Though I am surprised watching them do manual labor was that interesting for you. I half expected you to come back sooner," he chuckled. "He wouldn't let me down," I pouted. "Fair point. Now my Lady, your next date will be much more personable. Would you like to go now," he chuckled. "Who is it," I asked. "Gemini," he smiled. "Gemini?" I asked.
"That's right. Are you ready," he asked standing up. "Isn't it dark and shouldn't I change?" I asked surprised. "Time works differently here. The time only works normally during the date. That way it's easier for you to account for time. As for your clothes, they never got dirty, but you are free to change. Are you tired perhaps," he asked concerned. "No, no I'm ok. I just didn't know if this is going to fast," I said unsure as I stood up. "We can slow down. We can take as long as you need. All you need to do is say so," he smiled at me and I felt my face get red. "You alright," he asked again smiling softly. "Yes um it's fine, let's go meet Gemini," I said quickly walking past him and he chuckled.
We walked out and I followed him out of the building and down the street till we stopped at a pastry shop not to far from my apartment. "I'm glad all these dates are close by. That might be done on purpose though," I thought as Ophiuchus opened the door for me. "This is their favorite place. Go on in," he smiled pointing at the door. I nodded and walked it. The bell attached to the door sounded off and I was met with a beautiful pair of eyes.
